A great day it would have been, Ruffian would say to himself after the events that unfolded.

It was around noon, and Ruffian met up with his best friend, Kaoru. It was a special day, because not only was Ruffian going to visit his aunt Alexandria, but also Kaoru was going to conduct an interview.

“Well, now that we’re here, at the doorsteps of your aunt’s place. It’ll be a great time, right Ruffy?~” Kaoru nudged Ruffian with his elbow, having a wide grin on his face, causing the horse to look at his dragon friend.

“I’m sure it will be. My aunt did always take care of me after all.” Ruffian simply nodded his head at Kaoru, before going up to the door. He knocked on the door, and waited for one of her servants to come open the door. Ruffian knew how things worked around the mansion after all.

He went inside, and waited for his friend to come in. Once they were both inside, the door was closed behind them. Ruffian sighed, he looked at Kaoru with a happy face. His expression then turned into a surprised look, hearing the great footsteps. Kaoru looked in the direction of the steps with Ruffian. Walking down the hallway was Miss Alexandria, the famous casino jazz singer.

“You never told me she was this tall.” Kaoru simply looked at Ruffian, and just got a shrug.

“I thought everyone knew.” Ruffian simply began to walk up to his aunt, with the odd tv presenter following behind. Alexandria hugged Ruffian, ruffling up his hair, making him smile. She then looked at Kaoru, and tilted her head.

“So you must be Kaoru.” Alexandria had said, in a deep, dark voice. Kaoru just nodded his head, after all, Ruffian did say to keep at tip top professionalism.

“Well, I can take you both to the lounge, there are some snacks for you two.” She said, turning away, her smile fading. The two followed her to the lounge area, where Kaoru went to get himself ready to start learning about Miss Alexandria, as Ruffian found himself looking at the cheesecake filled strawberries. He grabbed one and bit into it, he looked back at Kaoru, just to see that he had already started his talkative way of getting people to talk, with Alexandria. Ruffian had put the entire strawberry filled cheesecake in his mouth, they were bite sized after all. He had decided to take a walk around, as to give time and space for the magical interview to occur.

Ruffian explored the mansion, hearing murmurs of the servants. Much of it just being societal gossip. He stopped for a bit after hearing something. He listened to the talk in his aunt’s office. It was two servants talking about how Alexandria wasn’t exactly happy that he brought his friend here. Ruffian went back to the lounge, just to sneak another cheesecake filled strawberry into his mouth. It was a bit later that he went back to the office. He had opened the door, and decided to look around. It’s been a while since Ruffian was in this room. He looked around until something caught his eye. It was an observation book on the desk.

Ruffian picked it up, and looked through it. His eyes were in horror… the pure betrayal he felt. He didn’t think he was being used like this. All he saw was observations and notes in regards to the things he does. It was almost like he wasn’t even a person, just some experiment. It seemed that she didn’t actually love him, she raised him as an opportunity. This was also how he learned of how she didn’t like humanity, and wondered about the ways people would crack under pressure.

As Ruffian put the book down, he walked back. He had bumped into someone, and that someone was one of her bodyguards. The bodyguard picked him up and took him somewhere. Ruffian struggled, attempting to free himself from the grasp, he then felt a hit to his face soon enough. He was free but at a cost. He decided to run to go find Kaoru still in the lounge, awaiting for the interviewees return. His friend once seeing Ruffian’s panicked face instantly caused a face of confusion, also worried.

“Not my friend!!!” Kaoru dramatically shouted, until Ruffian grabbed his arms, signaling they really just needed to go. He got the hint and picked Ruffian up, and began running out. It had seemed Alexandria had gone somewhere else in the mansion for a quick break. It had given them enough time to leave.

While they were going, Ruffian explained what happened. This did piss Kaoru off, and that’s where the dominos began to fall for Ruffian’s life.
