They keep their head up high and don’t take anyone’s flack, quick to shoot a judgemental glare and cold words toward whoever gets in their way. After a very sheltered childhood in Bolden, Vehlk is ready to do what it takes to travel the world, no matter how questionable that thing may be. Despite being generally cold, Vehlk holds an undying loyalty towards their found family and would go to any lengths for them.

> Relationships:

Pothos:Family; Though they’d never admit it, leaving Bolden terrified them. Pothos was the one who held them together through it all. Vehlk became very protective of Pothos over time, getting caught up in her antics but always keeping an eye out in case things go too far.

Varan: Family; Varan might not be that much younger than Vehlk in the grand scheme of things but he certainly acts like their annoying younger brother. Vehlk often has to pull him out of dangerous situations when things go awry, but they’re not as annoyed about saving his ass as they might seem.

> Backstory:

Vehlk’s family always had grand expectations of them. From a young age it was clear that as the eldest child they would be responsible for handling the next generation and preserving the status quo they had grown up in. Like most citizens of Bolden they come from a long family lineage, and before leaving they hadn’t really met anyone who was any different. One night they heard of a Rubasyn who had tried to enter the town and was turned away that evening, and it seemed like word had traveled fast enough that if they hurried, they could catch up to her.

Vehlk fled their family home in the dead of night. They ventured out into the foggy woods to find the Rubasyn they had heard about, quickly finding her as they knew the forest like the back of their paw. Pothos spoke of monster hunting and adventure, and though they were a little frightened of the idea of leaving their home, this might have been their only chance. It wasn’t like they hadn’t fended off monsters before, surely they could do it professionally if they tried hard enough.

They traveled with Pothos exclusively for about a year, learning how to better use their magic to fight as well as use the weapons that Pothos had shown them. After collecting some monster materials for a client in Braeyc City, they met Varan. He had tried to attack Pothos after she had supposedly stolen from him, but they quickly stopped him in his tracks. They had no idea what she saw in him or why she had invited him along at first, but Vehlk grew to appreciate his presence eventually.
