Beanie

Well the bowler hat was a bust, and of course of Jayden didn't like it and neither did Belial. In a split second decision mostly made from the inability to control his impulses, the corpse demon padded himself over to Jayden's incinerator and flicked the offensive piece of headwear into the flames. "Bel, you didn't have to burn it." Jayden laughed, watching the smaller demon walk back to him with that puppy dog look in his eyes that he normally held when Jayden scolded him. "You d-didn't like it... It h-had to.. To die." The simple explanation was met with another hearty chuckle and Belial being pulled into a tight embrace. Oh the little demon was so cute sometimes, and Jayden had no room in his cold heart for cute, but this was a rare moment where the death loving fiend actually found something that warmed his veins just a little. His mate could always seem to find those small times that made Jayden feel oddly human again. Of course he wasn't going to discourage the other from killing things, it was against his nature. "Don't worry, we'll find something we both like. How 'bout we get outta here and go to some shops, then we'll have a lot more choices. But we can't kill anything from the shops okay?" A nod and a grin formed on Belial's face. "Okay Jay-den."

It was settled, and with that Jayden took a moment to shift his form. The horns and tail receding with sickening cracks of bone shifting, breaking and reforming to make room for a more human form. Belial had no such ability to do this, he'd tried hiding his horns once and ended up with a headache from hell. And there was nothing to be done about the rest of his body which rotted and regenerated in gross heaps of black-green sludge pouring from the gaping hole in his side, and the boils in his skin popping, only to reform elsewhere. The smell from the both of them was entirely impossible to mask, yet Jayden wore the smell of rotting flesh as proudly as a fifteen year old wore copious amounts of Axe body spray. Once Jayden was finished getting himself to look as human as he could, he came back to kiss the lips of his undead companion. The boots were easy for Jayden to slip onto his feet, and a pair of shoes were begrudgingly helped onto Belial's. If the smaller demon had it his way he would just parade around in the nude all the time, but alas the humans didn't like that, nor did they like bare feet. They were going to have to deal with the fact that the male oozed uncontrollably. "Let's go." And with that, they were off to the city to look for something more suitable for Belial's comfort and curious mimicking.

The first shop they came across was the one Bel decided was suitable. Upon walking in, the demon went slowly to a shelf where many mannequin busts were neatly placed, and adorning their fake heads were multitudes of different hats. Belial seemed to have his eyes set one one in particular, and reached to pick up the head that was draped in a cloth that fit into the bald false skull almost like a condom. "Jay-den, I want to t-try this one." It seemed when he was excited, the false zombie spoke a little better, as if the energy he gained was somehow allowing his motor skills to speed up just a bit. "A beanie? You sure that's gonna fit around your horns?" While this was all fine and dandy, Jayden was not a fan of having to buy things simply because Belial couldn't control himself and ended up breaking something. He had the feeling that his mate was going to attempt to drape this cloth head cover over his thick, curled, ram like horns. This was not going to end well. Though the nod he got from the other, and the fact that he was already discarding the now naked plastic scalp told Jayden all he needed to know. There was nothing stopping his loved one from getting what he wanted, and he was going to have to make sure a mess wasn't made.

Quiet bootsteps joined the man who seemed quite confused as to how to put the cloth on his head. "Do you want help?" A shake of the head. Bel wanted to do this himself, even if it took him hours to figure it out. Fifteen minutes of Jayden explaining to a sales clerk that his companion was 'a little slow' to put it lightly, and movement was made. It was slow, but oddly confident, hands raised to face level, and the male ducked his head towards the hat. Seemed like it was going well, a motion of pulling the cloth over his head and his fingers let go, allowing it to sit where it lay. "Jay-den.... I can't see..." Belial's head tilted upwards and swiveled around in his confusion. The beanie was pulled not only over his eyes, but over his nose as well. At the very least it was staying on his head. Jayden had to stifle a laugh as he walked over to help, pulling the hat from the male's eyes and folding it gently across his forehead. As soon as he let go, however, the beanie slipped off Belial's smoothe horns and sat limp at the top of the demon's head. A pout, and hands came up to attempt to pull it down. Once more the elastic retracted and folded atop his head. "Jay-den..... It is n-not w-w... Working." Much to Belial's dismay, no matter how much he tried he couldn't get the thing to sit as it had been on the doll. Jayden finally took pity on the poor soul when the hat ended up hanging from the tip of one of Bel's horns, taking the beanie away from him and putting it down. "Then it's not the right one Bel. Put it back, we'll keep looking."
