As serious as she was about Clan life, Nightflame couldn’t be satisfied with just one hunting party. She came back from the Tangled Woods, and rested for a while, before making it for the apprentices’ den and gently nudged Lilacpaw who was sleeping after going on another patrol. “Huh?”, the little cat replied, still sleepy. Nightflame happily purred and pointed at the exit with her tail. “Are you up to some more hunting? I know you’re tired, but what can I do – I’m your mentor and it’s up to me to decide the time of training!”. The she-cat’s enthusiasm was contagious, and soon her apprentice was all up and ready for a good hunt. The two checked the camp to see if anybody was able to accompany them. “It looks like everyone is already busy,” Lilacpaw meowed. Her  mentor nodded and replied: “Then we’ll head for the Meadow. We shouldn’t  have much trouble with enemies there. Unlike the Tangled Woods…  Besides, I still need to teach you plenty of other techniques! You do want to learn, and become as good a warrior as yours truly?

"Sure thing!” The apprentice laughed, and bounded towards the forest. The day was bright and clear, but a few clouds started to gather while the sun was bound to set soon enough. The two cats didn’t have much time to do a full patrol, but that was just enough for them to enjoy a walk in the meadows, and perchance find something edible. Lilacpaw is young, and still has a lot to learn. She needs to be way stronger to become a warrior, but that’s alright, I’ll teach her up. At least, she has a good spirit, and is eager to improve!

Nightflame and Lilacpaw left the camp, and advanced through a pleasant, grassy terrain. The light rippled on the younger cat’s pelt, and her green eyes were gleaming with excitement. The more Nightflame looked at her, the more she realized how well the name was chosen. Lilac is a pretty color, she thought, and it makes for a pretty name. I wonder what her warrior name will be like, after moons of good training? Lilacflower? Lilacpool? Oh, we’ll see, we’ll see! I’m sure she’ll grow to be a great member of StormClan.

The warrior looked around, and finally stopped to announce that they have arrived to the right place. She sat, and invited Lilacpaw to do the same. “Now, breath, listen and smell. If there’s any prey, tell me, and we’ll go get it.” The face of the little she-cat became serious and concentrated as she started to sniff the air. Satisfied, Nightflame watched, smiling. “I think I’m smelling something tasty!”, she said, all excited and looked into Nightflame’s amber eyes for approval. The older she-cat had sensed it too. Hopefully we’ll catch something Lilacpaw can be proud of. If we do catch anything, that is. The warrior nodded and approached. “Right, so far you’re right. Now, can you tell me what do you smell? And where this ‘something tasty’ is?” Lilacpaw closed her eyes, sniffed again and pointed to the direction  where the smell was coming from. Not exactly though, since Nightflame had to correct the apprentice. She was almost there, that’s good! A little bit too far off on the left, but that’s alright. “Come on, let’s see if you listened carefully during out theory lessons!”, Nightflame laughed, and broke into a run, closely followed by Lilacpaw.
