"Very well, Lightningstar. But let us think of how much justice really means to cats. Let us ask them, see if they think it's too hollow to find the kittypet."

Brackenburr gazed over at Softbird's body, shuddering at the sight of her glazed over, lifeless eyes staring up at them. Whispering their respects, Brackenburr backed away into the crowd, looking down at the ground solemnly. They felt a soft, plumy tail graze their shoulder as Poppysplash walked past them, and Brackenburr smiled through the aching sadness at the sight of her. She was there for them, even though they couldn't exactly patrol or hunt together now, Poppysplash was a great friend- no...not just great- the best friend anyone ever wanted. Their cheeks grew hot as they thought of her, but the feeling drained away once they saw her horrified look as she saw Softbird.

Brackenburr dipped their head as Poppysplash closed Softbird's eyes and looked up at Lightningstar, "I agree with Redstorm in the pursuit of finding this kittypet. Not for the want of revenge, but for answers. While the kittypet, and her arrival are very coincidental, I feel there is more behind this situation than one is originally thinking about." There was a pause, a calm look cast in her leader's direction. "..While I am loyal to you, I am loyal more to my clan. A cat's life cannot simply go to waste. We are warriors, not rouges, Lightningstar. To ignore our fellow clanmates when they are no doubt cast into murder like this can only stoop us so low as they are. I have faith and trust in Stormclan, but I will not condemn such an act of ignorance and neglect! I believe the Kittypet did not raise her claws on this cat, on Softbird, but she perhaps witnessed something that we all have not."

Looking up at Lightningstar, Brackenburr thought quietly of what she had said. Lightningstar's brow's furrowed in thought aswell. They looked back at Poppysplash, who was now sitting by Redstorm, and gave her a reassuring nod and smile. Wolfspark pressed herself against Brackenburr, smiling widely at Poppysplash as she continued, "..I may not be a warrior any longer, but I will gladly let my life be put in your paws if it means we are not to stoop as low as loners and rouges." Raising her voice, she yowled, "We are not a  bunch of loners, but a clan! We are Stormclan, and we must show respect to our clanmates. Elders were once in our pawsteps, hunting and fighting just as we do today. Do we not owe Softbird's spirit to be put to rest at least? Has she not earned her final rest?" Scanning the crowd, the she-cat sighed, "At least give her that."

Brackenburr rose to their paws quickly without thinking and yowled, "We must respect ones who have fallen and have a vigil, not argue about how a kittypet -who never caught a piece of prey in her life- could've killed her! She deserves a nice burial, just like all of our passed ancestors." Poppysplash smiled at them as Brackenburr sat back down quickly as everyone looked at them, their ears hot with embarrassment, "A-and then we probably should focus more on Mountainclan. They are more dangerous than a kittypet ever will be, and with prey running short, I'm surprised they haven't stole our prey at all yet. I know we crave the truth, but we need to focus on our own safety, and who knows, maybe it was a Mountainclan cat who could've killed her!" Brackenburr finished their own little speech with a shaky voice, but they felt proud of themself for speaking up, instead of staying quiet. Softbird would be proud of them. "Softbird wouldn't want us to worry about her... she knows we care very much and that we're thankful for her moons of wisdom and motherly instinct, and like Poppysplash said, she deserves to be put at rest peacefully."
