Pokemon Ranger- Name TBD

This story starts in a small town. There's not much to see other than some small houses. The biggest draw of this town is the pokemon ranger base stationed in the center. With a small beach nearby, this town makes the perfect place for the region's water type base. It looks like a typical base, aside from one thing. On the roof of the building, there's a small pool of water where the Rangers' water partners can cool off during hot, uneventful, days. 

At present, there aren't many pokemon using this facility. To be exact, only a single Pokemon can be seen swimming around. This happens to be a young Vaporeon, the partner of the newest recruit Booke. Inside the base, you can see that exact ranger chatting with the receptionist, Sally. "Was being a ranger everything you thought it would be?", Sally curiously asked Brooke. "I wasn't expecting it to be so boring." "Well, that just tells me we're doing our jobs right." "I guess, but I just wish I could actually go help someone." Just then, an old farmer from outside town runs in shouting "Please, I need help. One of the Tauros on my farm started rampaging out of nowhere." He then turns around and worriedly states "He's usually pretty calm, even lets the young children from town ride him around the farm. I just don't know what's gotten into him."

Brooke grinning hugely, "I may still be a recruit, but I should be able to calm that Tauros of yours!" She and the farmer leave the base, heading towards the farm. Upon seeing Brooke, the Vaporeon leaves the roof pool and follows closely behind. Back in the base, Sally smiles while looking out the door. That quickly turned into a look of panic when she looked back at the counter in from of her. 

"She forgot her capture stylus!"  "Who did?" A man had walked into the base, a Wingull flying behind him. Sally had a relieved look on her face as she said, "Sir!  Thank Arceus you're back. The farmer from just outside of town ran in, he said one of his Tauros was going on a rampage" "Since all of the other rangers were unavailable, Brooke headed out to help but she left her capture stylus." 

"That girl's always looking for trouble.", the Base leader, Kaibus, mutters under his breath and grabs the stylus. Louder, wishing to be heard, "If only I applied for the flying type base". "But then you wouldn't have met me", Sally jokingly replies. Kaibus gently smiles towards her, then lazily starts heading out the door. "If I take my time getting there, do you think she'll learn to keep better track of her capture stylus?" "I doubt it." Upon hearing this, Kaibus laughs and exits the base.

The rampaging Tauros was still as angry as the farmer had made him out to be. Brooke, upon realizing she had forgotten her capture stylus back at the base, decided the best course of action was to force the Tauros to stop. She takes a look at her surroundings and notices some haystacks nearby. "It's a stupid idea, but it's the only one of got". 

Brooke climbs up onto the stack, crouches down and takes a leap of faith landing safely onto the back of the Tauros. Upon landing, grabs onto its mane as a means to not lose balance but also as a possible way to stop the Tauros. Upon this occurrence, the even more enraged Tauros starts trying to throw the young ranger off of him. At this, the Vaporeon starts using water gun on the Tauros hoping to protect his ranger. 

At this moment Kaibus enters the farm, taking a couple seconds to take in the scene. He reaches for his capture stylus and with only 3 loops managed to capture and calm the Tauros. At this, the Tauros suddenly stops, the force of which causes Brooke to fly off him into the haystack she had used to mount him.

The old man runs up to them, and thanks them profusely. Before heading into the nearby barn, he hands each of them a handful of berries as thanks. 

As soon as the old man was out of sight, Kaibus furiously turns toward Brooke. "Are you stupid? If it was up to me, I would force you to hand over your stylus right now." "Seeing as how you're still a trainee, I'll let you off with a warning. The next time you do something that not only puts you but your partner in danger, I'll make sure headquarters removes you from my base."

"This, for the time being, is still yours", Kaibus says as he throws Brooke her forgotten capture stylus. After receiving the stylus and clipping it to her shorts, Brooke heads toward the now extremely peaceful Tauros. 

Brooke starts feeding it one of the berries she had received and started to stroke its mane. As she was dragging her hands through its fur, here and came in contact with a solid object. Upon pulling the item out of its mane, Brooke notices that it's a large syringe with a small amount of liquid still inside.

"Sir, do you think this is what caused the Tauros to become so enraged?" "That's the most likely reason that I could think of. Hand it to me, I'll go give Professor Pine"
