Nova hadn't been at the manor long before she ran into the Photographer and she didn't know what to expect for her first encounter with the camera world.. but it definitely wasn't that.

As soon as Nova walked through the camera projection, she wished she hadn’t. Her first thought was that it was both unsettling and kinda creepy. Not seeing the supposed photographer anywhere, the rescuer continued going through the camera world. Not even she knew what she was supposed to be finding, it just caught her eye when Nova first saw the projection appear.

Within a few seconds, Nova caught the sight of a survivor and happily ran over. Nova felt like there was something different about the survivor, but she couldn’t tell. Glancing around and noticing another of the camera projections nearby, she turned back to the survivor.

“We got ciphers to decode, let’s go win this.” Grabbing the survivor’s hand, she gently tugged only to notice they weren’t moving. Looking over her shoulder at the survivor, she tugged their arm again and they still didn’t budge. Nearly falling over when she tried to push them forward instead, Nova grumbled. They were supposed to be a team, why was this survivor making things difficult just by standing there?

Before Nova could do anything else though, her heartbeat became almost-deafening and she turned around just in time to notice the hunter looking down at her. The rescuer had wanted to run but instead she walked a few steps in front of the survivor, spreading her arms around to act as a shield, which seemed to confuse the photographer more.

“I won’t let you hurt them!” To anyone else, the photographer did seem to be amused at the tinier survivor trying to protect someone obviously taller than her but something kept him from attacking. He wasn’t sure if it was because he was amused or because the rescuer was the first survivor to attempt to help the mirror images get out of the camera world.

“I’m not going to hurt them.. They’ll go away in a few seconds anyways.” Joseph hadn’t intended to be so blunt about the mirror images disappearing and anyone could tell he felt bad about wording it like that when Nova seemed to subtly flinch.

“..What are you talking about? They’re not going away! We’re a team!” Realizing Nova still didn’t get it, Joseph took a deep breath and was about to explain when he could tell the camera world was about to disappear, including the mirror image.

“I can prove it, turn around.” Despite Nova’s initial instincts telling her not to turn around, she did, only have a second to react before noticing the camera world start to disappear, taking the mirror image with it. Before either of them could react, Nova had started running towards the mirror image in an attempt to grab their hand but it disappeared before she could, leaving her to trip and almost fall onto a downed pallet.

Quickly being able to pick up on the survivor’s panicked state, he approached them in an attempt to comfort, something Nova didn’t notice as she stayed in that spot, tears soaking the ground below her and her mumbled begging for them to come back not going unheard.

Before too long, an announcement ran out that the dungeon was open and there was only one more survivor left. They both knew it was Nova and that if Joseph let her go, it would be a 4-man. Despite that, he didn’t find it in himself to eliminate the obvious shaken-up child. Offering a hand to help her up, the photographer quickly teleported to the closest exit gate as he got them both back to the manor safely. He can always get his match streak back, the photographer knew that.
