Like all of the dogs at the Slate Mine Estate, Beaux rode in the trainer's car to get anywhere he needed to go. While some of his pack mates really hated car rides, Beaux thought that they were rather pleasant. The trainer had saved up and bought a car that could comfortably seat five people. Usually, however, the car only contained the trainer in the driver's seat and then one or two dogs sitting in the back.

Beaux loved the back seat. The trainer had secured a protective seat cover over it, so the dogs never burned themselves on hot leather in the summer. In the colder months, the trainer would load up the seats with fluffy blankets that Beaux loved to wrap himself in. On longer rides, Beaux would simply fall asleep back there. Sometimes he liked to stick his head up and gaze out of the window. There was always lots to see on the way to the trials.

Beaux's favorite things to look at were the fields of animals. There were all kinds of cows and sheep and even horses for the collie to look at. Sometimes he wondered what he would do if they were to ever stop at one of these fields. If he were younger, he'd probably have gone bounded after the animals there to herd them. But now that he was older? He'd probably stand at the fence line and admire them.
