Snow White butterflies littered the set. Blanche had been excited for this shoot for months. She was wearing a light spring dress with butterfly patterns sewn into the base. Delicate and gorgeous in every way. The designer she worked for was simply amazing at picking out outfits just for her! Well not just for her- she supposed this was only one variant of a long line of dresses that were to go out soon.

It’s kinda itchy though.

Blanche held her hands out listening to the clicks of the camera. She supposed she should do her job right? Pose in some way. But what way! Blanche wasn’t a model or anything. She was raised to be a princess. Never supposed to work a day in her life. But alas here she was working. That’s because she wanted to own something of her own someday! Blanche brushed her hair back as a little butterfly landed on her nose. So cute and delicate.

She wondered if there were any butterfly cafés out there! Wouldn’t that be cool? To sip tea amongst blooming flowers as butterflies flew about them? Maybe she would open that cafe up if the cat cafe failed. Or better! Make enough money and open both up!

“Hey Blanche! Can you turn more this way? We want some shorts of that side of the dress-“

“Oh oh of course-“ Blanche twirled to the other side, a lot wave of butterflies that were perched on her flying off. Whoops… did she scare them- the camera man’s shutter clicked as she twirled. Perhaps it was a good picture! Blanche was always told she had quite the knack for this.

A few hours past, posing, reposing, waiting for the butterflies to perch. Blanche was happy to finally stretch and get some fresh air as the photo shoot came to an end. She sat outside taking small happy bites out of a cute spring themed petit fours. What more did a girl need in life! She lived the dream as a fashion model and got to take home cool dresses far before anyone else even got to look at them! She traced her finger across the butterflies embedded in the fabric. She hoped this dress was a hit with the others. All of Lavigne’s designs had been a hit so far. She wondered how much her dreams would fail if Lavigne’s designs started to fail.

Blanche rested her head on her hands staring at the flower bushes ahead of her. Monarchs came and went as they stole a sweet drink from the flowers growing there. Perhaps a life a butterfly was simpler. Eating for months and months to become fat caterpillars and then morphing into beautiful butterflies. Blanche was always told she was awkward as a kid. That’s why she did things like ballet to balance her life out. Did she too morph like a butterfly? Evolve into someone new? A small tingle was felt on one of her hands, soft pink eyes glanced to the side to see a monarch crawling over it.

“Oh sir…I’m not a flower.” Blanche whispered slowly standing and taking gentle steps towards the bushes, “I’m glad you think I’m pretty enough to qualify. But I doubt I taste as sweet as these do. Go on now try some of this.” She whispered letting the butterfly crawl off of her to the flowers below. She quickly pulled out her phone taking a quick picture to post on her socials before seeing the time.

Oh! The photos should be done by now!

Without another thought Blanche rushed back inside, spooking the poor butterflies in her wake.
