"Cal it's supposed to rain today." Polaris whispered as he was dragged outdoors. Ugh the sun... was so bright. He squinted before staring at the road ahead of him, "We can always go tomorrow."

"But tomorrow isn't today! We'll miss out on the shop's opening! Come on Polari!"

"Polaris." The purple RevelriE corrected running fingers through his messy hair, "I think I'm fine. I'll stay home. I don't want to get wet I'm sure there is work to do." Polaris said simply turning around to head back into the safety of their home. But that didn't stop Calli who promptly grabbed the other's tail.

"But today is like our date day. Once a month...come on please?"

Polaris internally groaned. Once a month they agreed to going out on a date. A real date. But really this was all a ploy to get Polaris out of the house. The shorter RevelriE finally turned and placed his hand in the other's. "Fine but once it gets cloudy we go home. I don't wanna get soaked out here."

"Fine fine! Promise you won't get drenched! My wings are big enough for both of us!"

A skeptical glance was tossed in Cal's direction. Sure. Sure he was...

Thankfully the pair didn't live too far from the destination. Now burdened with their treats they found a quiet place to settle in the park. Calliope was rambling about things he needed to do that week while Polaris silently listened. He was too concerned over drinking his frosted drink before it melted into a pile of slush. He supposed the taste was worth the wait. They had been in that line for near an hour now. Polaris internally sighed, wings melting down to the ground. His feet hurt... but at least his Calliope seemed happy. The white and blue RevelriE smiled brightly at him, receiving a semblance of a smile in return.

"Isn't it good! I knew you would like it."

Polaris glanced to the slowly melting strawberry chocolate frosted drink. It was good. He was terrible at making decisions and as per usual he allowed Cal to do all the hard work... and as per usual they ended up with double than they needed. But it was ok. Polaris was honestly having a great time. He sat down his drink crawling closer to his partner, planning on giving him a hug to thank him. Words were never his thing after all but physical affection he could at least pull off. But before he could a rumble of thunder shook the sky. His ears dropped and the pair shared a glance before quickly gathering their things and running under a near by shop awning.

Not a moment after till the skies above them opened and rain started to pour down.

"...." Calliope was quiet looking from Polaris to the falling rain. He clicked his tongue, slowly putting his arm around his partner's shoulder, "Well at least we saved everything! I think it was a very successful date!"

Polaris's ear flicked as Calliope kissed the tip of it.  He hummed slowly going back to sipping his drink. It was certainly...something. "So how do we get home now." Polaris mumbled as the rain only seemed to get harder. Calliope scratched his head looking down the road in the direction of the house.

"Hey! You stay here! I'll go home and grab an umbrella for you-"

Before Polaris could protest his partner ran off into the rain leaving him to stand safely under the awning.

Too bad the rain would stop by the time Calliope got back-
