Aperi stood at the top of a dry and sandy steppe, the wind was blowing up at that height which sent her long red and white-colored manes drifting with the gust, a long sunset-colored feather tucked behind her ear that had been meticulously braided in to keep it secured there. Tucked in a nest of her long back mane sat a small white and orange-tipped phoenix chick. The little chick peeped as Aperi seemed to lose her train of thought staring down into the valley close to a village. "What are you doing my love?"  came a soothing voice from behind her. The split coated chimera mare turned her head to set her rose and powder blue eyes on the brindled chimera desert mare, Aphrodite, that now stood by her side looking down into the valley as well. Aperi motioned down at a few black and white dots that were following another white dot as they crossed the desert back to the village. "I thought I had seen something and it seems a shepherd boy has unknowingly shown us dinner," The little phoenix chick peeped louder and louder as another phoenix flitted down to perch on the brindled mare's rump, the feathers of this one matching the same that was braided into Aperi's mane. "Quiet now, Soliel," Aperi said softly to the chick, rolling her shoulders for a moment to rock the chick. "How do you suppose we get the sheep without getting the attention of the humans?" The brindled mare said with a small scowl. Aperi smiled at her and gave the other mare a small nuzzle. "You leave that part to me, just have Aris get the goat's attention once I have the humans. We only need one." Aphrodite seemed less than thrilled with this plan but she knew there would be no talking the asiatic mare out of it. The two of them climbed down the steppe and waited for the sun to sink down onto the horizon. Aperi had sent the smaller phoenix over the village to see where the sheep were being held, the split coated mare saw the smaller white phoenix making circles on the fare side of the village, close enough to the outskirts they could just draw a sheep out into the desert. Once Soliel had come back, huffing from the effort of flying for so long Aperi gave Aphrodite a nuzzle and whispered "Showtime," With Aphrodite, Aris, and Soliel watching from a safe distance, Aperi had trotted over-exaggeratedly up to the other side of the village which kicked up dust, sending it into the village which got some people's attention. Aperi lifted her legs high and tossed her mane as she paraded herself in a dance down the middle street of the village. The people seemed like simple farmers and they were much enjoying the show Aperi was putting on for them. She turned round and round, showing off her dual-coated body and flashing her glassy pink and blue horns which glittered colored light across the hard earth from the torches that dotted the main 'street' of the little village.

Aperi let out a high whinny which was a signal and smiled to herself seeing Soliel and Aris take to the sky and head towards the now unattended sheep. Aperi turned and began her dancing back to the edge of the village, the humans following her and clapping, some picking up pots or drums and making a beat for her to dance to. Aperi was standing up on her back hooves now, facing so she could see Soliel and Aris leading one of the sheep off into the desert back around the village so that the humans wouldn't notice it right then. She dropped back down onto her hooves and shook out her long manes before turning on heel and galloping off back into the desert. She was heading in the opposite direction of the steppe but only for a bit as she circled back towards it in a wide arc. She could see Aris and Soliel circling above as Aphrodite herded the sheep out to their meeting place. Every time the sheep made to turn back and run for the village Aphrodite cut it off with a snap of her jaws and pushed it towards Aperi. Aphrodite was an adept huntress and watching her guide the sheep back and forth seemed almost like a dance itself. Aphrodite was finally able to join back up with Aperi who gave her a warm smile. "Sometimes I swear you're such a show-off," Aphrodite said teasingly before nipping the sheep's rump to drive it out in front of the two mares.  Aphrodite turned to look at the village that was now a small dot on the landscape. "Do you think this is far enough? " Aperi looked back herself and scrunched up her lips "Yes, I think so. But I also think we should give the sheep a chance,"  Aphrodite looked confused for a second but Aperi gave a short whinny which had Soliel diving from the sky towards the sheep and grabbing at it and driving the sheep into a panicked run. The sheep sped past the two mares back towards the village and after a moment Aperi ran after it. Aphrodite was staring but she also ran after the sheep, running alongside Aperi "Why are we driving it back to the humans?" "We need to make it look like it was forgotten and killed trying to get back," Aperi said with a wink before she leaned down, grabbing the sheep by its leg which stopped it, its front legs flying out from under it. The sheep bleated and flailed but Aphrodite didn't like to see the animal suffer and so delivered a deadly kick to the back of the sheep's head which effectively silenced it. The sheep lay there between the two mares as Aris and Soliel perched on their respective mistress. "Well, I suppose dinner is served," Aperi said with a small laugh.
