The creek trickles as a wind blows, the clouds starting to creep with the threat of a storm. A white mare with red and blue stripping stood near the creek as it bubbled. These new stables had been her home for a couple months now, she had found this dead tree with a creek that trickles nearby as her favorite place to escape the pressures of the walls.

Vein turned her head to the dark skies, "A storm is rolling in." She says gently more or so to herself then to anyone around her. When a chuckle came from somewhere the mare turn's perking her ears as she looked towards a sandy coated mountain stallion. She sneers as she turns to look back at the sky, her mind chasing the thought of what her freedom could never be, see Vein was a special mare with a rare mutation that could no longer breed through her bloodline.

Since Vein had come to Pronghorn Stables she had been given a freedom to free roam instead of being locked up, I'm a breeding pen all day. What she didn't expect was for an older sand colored stallion to follow her almost anytime she walked the creek bed, "Can I help you old man?"

She asked rather snarky, as Vein had grown to dislike stallions due to the constant breeding she dealt with from the old breeding farm. With her newly gained freedom was a new attitude that bit anyone who came near, many stallions had fallen at her bite Maria's draft boyfriend Maddox was one. This got her from the old stallion as he came closer, "Easy lady, my name is Regale!"

The old stallion chorales a laugh, sounding old as he smiles, "You don't know me do you?" He asked as if he'd been playing a Riddle game, this just makes the mare narrow her red eyes at him, "No I do not know you, the most I know is that you have followed me around." She states as she watched him, this makes the stallion hum with curiosity so the mare was very observant.

"Well you see young lady my name is Regale! I'm here to talk to you." He says as he watched the mare, who seemed ready to fight him, her muscles tense, "And why would you want to talk to me." She asked with a sneer regarding him and this situation.

This just eggs the old stallion further, "I have quests you can take! To learn about you and gain some gifts! I can tell from the way you don't necessarily want me around, but I would like to know. To learn about a mare that's rather unique."

Those words pissed Vein off as she whipped around and snapped her jaws at him, "DO NOT EVER USE THOSE WORDS AGAIN!" Her eyes narrow full of anger, her snapping made the stallion step back wide eyed, he had over stepped a boundary and he could tell, "I'm sorry-"

"Cut the crop old man! What do you want! Why are you here! Why are you bothering me! Don't tell me that you are unique crap either! That's all those other nasty stallions would say! I'm sick of it!" She practically screamed at the stallion.

"That's not why I'm here. I'm here to offer you an opportunity to learn about you." He says his honesty rooted deep in his blue eyes that clashed her red. When she heard him she blinked and relaxed, "Quests...what for?" She asked as she watched him, the stallion smiles, "I just want to know about you, you tell me about anything and everything." He says, "See I wanna know about your past, your present, and your future. I've had many take these quests and I would like for you to do them as well." He states with a kind look.

The kind look makes Vein pull a sour face as if she had eaten rotten flesh, "Excuse me what….you want me to do quests? That's ridiculous even for an old man like yourself." She states as she turned her head up as rain started to pour from the sky, "Who would do these ridiculous Quests any ways? Someone with no life?"

She laughs this time at her snarky remark to him which made the older stallion narrow his eyes at her, "Many ballators do my Quests and many have received amazing gifts from me, and the lords."

The old stallion states, Vein's ears pin back as she snorts, "Oh you are one of those horses who believe in those gods, and here I thought we could have a nice conversation and actually talk but you're a fool." She says harshly as she turns to head back for the stables, "Call me when you realize how childish it is to believe in those gods. They have caused nothing but pain and suffering to our lands."

She scoffs as she starts to leave the situation, "That's a harsh judgment don't ya think?" The old stallion asked as he stepped towards the mare, the mare pinned her ears as she looked at him, "Harsh judgment? Harsh judgment? Are you serious? What gives those gods the right to play with us. We are mortals and they caused the war that destroyed a lot of land. You can't just expect some of us to just roll over for those gods."

She states as she looked at the stallion before she looked back at the sky, the rain coming down heavily on the pair, "Those gods did nothing to help me when I was stuck in that breeding ring! They didn't answer a single thing! So I don't believe in your gods, you can shove that up your hind quarters." The mare says harshly tears were making her eyes glossed over as she looked at the older stallion. She never explained herself but now she did as she looked at the old stallion.

Somber feelings washed over both mare and stallion as they watched each other, the stallion moved towards the mare again, "If you would just hear me out and listen, these quests are not about what you believe. I mean they are but they don't have much to do with the gods you despise. They are about learning about yourself and you."

He explained gently as he watched the mare, he was being honest and he wanted her to know that he didn't move closer as he watched her, Vein thought she blinked as she looked at the raining sky again. Who was she, what was she. She had been crammed in that breeding farm so long ago. To be free now, to have freedom on a free range farm. Was that what he meant? For her to really test her freedom. Turning to the stallion she watched him, before she looked out over her new home, "You want to know about me. What happened? How I got here, and where I'm going from here on out?" She questioned softly as lightning flashed with the role of thunder.

This made the stallion smile at her suddenly soft words, "Yes." He says watching her, he did think she was a beautiful and unique mare. Watching her he moved closer to her, as he heard her sigh, "Lets get someplace dry."
