Anthousai isn’t too sure what to do with himself. His trainer’s normally by his side, or given him some things to do, practicing the obstacle course to build his stamina & dexterity or just explore around the gardens to see exactly what’s going on. But he’s already done all of that.
The whole time he’s been with them, and if he’s honest he’s not been around that long, his trainer has had time for him, but they’ve been so busy the last couple of days.
He's tried getting their attention, he’s just shooed off with a soft smile, told go entertain yourself. But how can you entertain yourself when you’re all alone? If he’s honest, Anthousai just wants a friend, but there’s no way he can tell or signal that to his trainer, it’s not like it’s even his place to tell them what to do.
That gives him an idea.
With a slight yawn and a flick of the ear, he clambers out of his bed, stretching his little paws out before then leaping up to attention. Tail bushy, and eyes clear. He’s been told to entertain himself, and the gardens are far vaster than he knows, maybe he can find a wild friend out there. Then even better, he finds a wild friend out there, who wants a trainer too and he can bring them back, he can’t say no if they’re already there sat at their feet. The plan is perfect, fool proof. A quick detour to the kitchen for a quick drink, he doesn’t know how long he might be out there, how long it may take to find a new friend after all, and then out the little door flap.
The air ruffles his fur the minute he stands out there, he ruffles his nose into his chest for a second as he adapts to the rather bracing weather. Good weather isn’t needed, this is an adventure after all, so he bounces back into, what he would call, a good adventurer’s pose. Sniffing the air, Anthousai isn’t too sure which way he wants to head, he’s not really done a full tour of the land or what leads where, so any direction is probably a good direction, at least for today. With one quick glance back into the warmth of the house, off he goes, a bounce in his set as he thinks about the potential of finding a new friend out there. It doesn’t take long to cross the lawn part of the garden, he doesn’t like to keep to much just grass, his trainer, something about it attracting Combee and Butterfree which he wants apparently. This time of year the flowers have grown large, some even go up above his head, which is a little overwhelming, but they’re so beautiful. He’s thought about it a bit, evolving, he overheard his owner discussing it with another human, he didn’t really get to hear what they said on the subject though. How did he get onto this train of thought? Oh, right! He’d like to be a Leafeon he thinks, he loves the nature and being outdoors, and the idea of looking all leafy, oh he loves that idea. This isn’t what he came to do.
He shakes his head and finishes crossing through the flower bed, a friend, that is what he is looking for. So, he picks up his pace. Deeper and deeper into the garden, he wonders if it ever ends or if it goes on for ever, and if it does end how does it do that? Will he come to a fence or simply continue on into somewhere else like that?
He ruffles his nose, and glances around, didn’t he just pass that tree? Sitting down, Anthousai lets himself breath, there is a lot more ground covered then he expected and there seems to be so much more to continue into. Would, would his trainer come to find him if he got lost? No! He stamps his paw into the ground letting out a soft growl, he shouldn’t think like that or he’ll get all stuck in his head, his trainer loves him and would always try to find him if he was lost.
Talking of lost however… He glances around, maybe this wasn’t as wise an idea as he thought… None of these trees or bushes seem recognisable to him, none of the ground well-trodden. Oh dear. He glances back, the way he’s pretty sure he came. It’s probably worth going that way, the worse that will happen is he will become even more lost for his owner to try and find him; but if he is right then he doesn’t ever have to know about this happening. A friend shall just have to find their own way to him, if he is so desperate surly someone else is as well.
So, he starts walking again, further and further, it feels like forever and his feet hurt and he feels exhausted. Has the journey actually been this long, or is it just panic making it seem even worse than it is, it’s got to be the nerves, but he has no reason to be nervous? Anthousai is a big and brave Eevee, he doesn’t need help from anyone else and he can easily explore by himself, he’s not afraid, of course not what is there to be afraid of
CRACK
He doesn’t even register his feet moving, or even his body jumping into the air until his paws hit the floor again, ears pinned back and eyes darting about. Okay, maybe he is a bit scared, that was really loud and close by, what could it be? There’s so many much larger pokemon, or even some other human, maybe they could think he’s lost, or free to claim and try to take them for himself. His heart feels like it’s beaten a thousand beats a second, and then there’s some hands around his waist. Panicking he goes to lash out but then stops himself just before he does anything, and he smiles sheepishly, it’s his owner, of course it is. He doesn’t even listen to their words as he’s carried back home, instead just nuzzling into them. Yeah, exploring alone defiantly isn’t for them.
