‘Long ago, the Animalian within what is now known as Windwall were plagued by a sinister force. The Southern wind. This powerful spirit enjoyed destroying anything they made. When they attempted to grow crops it would consume them, when they tried to make shelters it would blow them over. Many of the towns folk moved away and those in the nearby cities fled, afraid of the Southern winds grasp.

However the Forsteri in this city would not let the wind win. Working together they devised a way to protect themselves from the Southern winds tyranny. They found that the Southern winds cold hand could not peirce through thick stone so they worked hard and spent many months constructing a large wall on the southern side of their city. The wind tried to stop them and as the wall grew taller and taller it would blow harder and harder, desperate to stop their efforts in its construction, however they were a strong people and would not let its painful bite stop them.

Brick by brick they built the wall till eventually they trapped the Southern wind on the other side. Every night the wind would try to tear down their wall, howling and screaming at the towns folk on the other side to let it in, but the wall stood firm.

As years passed by the townsfolk continued to maintain the wall making sure that any cracks that appeared in it were repaired well and the foundation regularly inspected. They even carved intricate murals into its stone surface to remind anyone who saw it of the strength and might of those that built it as well as what the walls purpose was. Protected behind their great stone wall the people grew and prospered.

However, after many generations passed a tragedy occurred. The emperor of this great city’s wife, the empress, went missing. She stole away in the dead of the night over the wall and into the Southern Winds clutches. Unable to accept the loss, the Emperor himself foolishly went after her. The towns people at first, afraid to enter into the Southern Wind's domain simply fasted and waited for him. After a few days had passed however their worry devolved into panic.

They sent out search parties to find the lost emperor again and again but the Southern Winds sharp grasp prevented them from ever venturing too deep into its domain to find him.

Years passed, but the townsfolk, just like in the days of old, refused to give up. But their stubbornness was at a cost. As they spent most of their time looking for the Emperor and recovering from their outings the wall started to fall into disarray.

Eventually the Southern wind's strong fist punched through the weakened stone wall. It destroyed all it touched and wreaked havoc on the city. Unable to withstand its power most of the town's folk fled, but a few remained determined to not let the Southern Wind claim their Emperor. They knew that finding him alive was not possible, but they would not let the wind take his remains. To this day the Guiding Lights are even said to still be looking for him.’
