Meeting new friends

His ears prick up, there’s a couple of people at the doorway and Anthousai wants to know who they are, what they want with their trainer and maybe even them; but the minute that there was a knock at the door, he was herded into the kitchen, door shut on his nose. He’s never shut out when guests come over, no, he’s always there having a poke about trying to work out what’s going on and what the person may want with them and their trainer.
The voices keep going, he’s craning his ear up to the door, trying to listen as closely as possible, he ends up pawing up onto his back legs, leaning against with his front paws up on the door. What on earth could they be talking about and doing? Then the voices stop and he hears the door open again, he knows that distinctive click, and then it’s shut again. Footsteps approach his direction, what could they be doing. Suddenly he realises how he’s stood, his trainer doesn’t like when he stands on the furniture like that, it can cause damage says his trainer, and he doesn’t want that to happen, he likes how neat their house is and looks. Pushing back, he lands, all four paws back onto the floor and he backs up a bit, taking a couple steps back before spinning a couple of times. His tail fluffs up and he comes to a stop, now a couple of steps away from the door, tail wagging slightly to see what’s going on.
A shadow appears over the door, which Anthousai can see through the small window, so he sits, paws tapping a couple of times. The door clicks and is then swung open, revealing just his trainer, though Anthousai ensures not to move anywhere yet. A hand reaches down and scratches behind his ear, making him crane into it more, liking how it manages to just reach that spot he can’t by himself. He half pays attention to what his parent is saying, something about being nice to them, they’re probably a bit scared and he’s got to be the brave confident one. Honestly, they have no idea what they’re saying but this ear scratch is so good, and it’s not like he's managed to step a foot wrong yet after all. The hand then starts to move away, and in disappointment he tries to chase the touch, but it keeps moving to fast and then high for him to reach, he considers jumping up slightly to tell them he didn’t want that to stop, but then decides against it.
Anthousai then just so happens to glance around his trainer’s legs, and oh. Stood back there, well one is stood the other seems to be sat down on the floor, are two more eevees, well he thinks they are. In general, they both resemble him, one’s different colours and slightly different, but the other, well it’s stood on two legs and really doesn’t seem to look like him much in general. They both look really nervous, so Anthousai sits, trying to make himself look as calm and approachable as physically possible, trying to fluff up to look friendly, but not so far that he looks like he’s fluffed up to be aggressive. The two legged one moves first, gently brushing one of its hands across the other’s head, to which it happily stretches up to. He stops just a bit in front of Anthousai, before then pausing, and the trainer excuses themselves to the Eevee’s telling them to be good together.
“’m Goblin, that’s Nymph, hurt her and we’re not going to get along.” He says, pointing from himself to then the other one, as Nymph’s name is said her tail wags softly and she smiles a little sheepishly. “Oh yeah, and I use he / it, Nymph is good with anything.” A soft smile appears on his face.
Anthousai’s tail wags happily,
“Well it’s a pleasure to meet the two of you, my name’s Anthousai, I use he they in general, though my names a mouthful feel free to call me Ani or Leaf. I guess you guys have come to live with us now? If so, I am more then happy to show you around and help you both get settled, trainer’s really nice and lets me get up to whatever I want really, most of the time.” Anthousai introduces himself, before then standing up and doing another little circle on the area. “Would you guys like a quick tour of the main area here, before we then get into the more detailed parts?” He adds on. At this point Nymph has gotten up and walked over to the other two, his tail wagging behind him and the little wings fluttering slightly against her body.
“That would be awfully kind of you, we know it must be kind of odd, just you know, turning up on your doorstep, like hi we live with you know.” They smile out and Anthousai lets out a soft, kind laugh.
“If you to really want to know, I’ve been getting rather lonely and wishing that I had some friends around here, trainers can’t always be there with you to spend time when you want them to. Right, enough about me, onto the kitchen tour and then I can either show you places like the main bedroom and playrooms or the garden, our garden is huge and I love it out there.” Anthousai can’t help the paw taps that come out in excitement as he speaks, he’s so excited to get some friends and get to know them, they seem mighty interesting and unique, but he doesn’t want them to be bombed with questions so soon, he knows how overwhelming that can be.  Afterall, he doesn’t want to scare them off now, they’re going to live together from now on, and scaring people the minute they start to move in isn’t a smart move.
As he gets to know while giving them the tour however, is that Nymph and Goblin came together from a breeder, and his trainer got them as both part of their collection but also as it seems, companions for him. The timeline of events Nymph mentions, does seem to line up with that really busy and lonely week his trainer had, when she barely had time for him, hu, guess she had more time for him then he thought, just not in the way of which he expected. They end up stopping the tour when they’ve explored most of the house, Nymph complaining that her legs ache and she’s never done so much walking, while Goblin laughs and sees what sort of things he can climb, trainer clearly didn’t realise a scratching post for Anthousai is a climbing post for a Goblin.
The three come to a stop just outside the kitchen door in the garden, the three of them flopping down onto the grass, below the rather warm at this point, sun, heating up their fur, Nymph mutters something about making sure Goblin doesn’t overheat itself.
“So, very early days I know, but how do you two think you’re going to settle in?” Anthousai asks, leaning back further to look at the other two, his tummy and legs up in the air, fur fluffing up into his mouth slightly. Nymph chuckles and glances over at Goblin before then turning her attention back to Anthousai.
“I think we have defiantly enjoyed it so far, and you kind sir, I must say are lovely and I will be more then happy and comfortable to share a house with you.” Nymph smiles a slight purr appearing in her voice as she happily melts out in the sun, her wings flutter slightly, Anthousai hasn’t learnt too much about them, other then the fact that they seem to be mostly for show in her typing, not that he seems to mind much about it. As they lay out in the sun, Anthousai’s mind wonders back to evolution, he’s learnt it’s slightly different for these two, for being as he’s been told, a nearly standard Eevee like himself has a far easier step. Whereas Goblin, who the minute evolution was even a thought upon his lips, came out and said he’s never evolving, that there’s too much change and he doesn’t want that. Fusions have extra evolution, in a sense at least, his other side being able to evolve itself. Just thinking about it makes Anthousai’s head spin honestly, and he doesn’t know Nymph’s opinions, it’s not like she could get any prettier either way. He himself, yeah he’s even more firmly set about evolution now, it’s nothing against his trainer, but a small speck at the back of his mind thinks he’s more inferior to these others, he doesn’t look that interesting or exciting. He shakes his head, cutting off these thoughts. He shouldn’t think like that it’s just a bad way to get into a bad headspace.
To bring himself back to attention, Anthousai glances back around at his surroundings, his eyes snagging on his two new companions, he is very excited to get to know them more, and honestly for them to get to know him more as well. Hopefully tomorrow they can all go exploring in the trees, maybe with three of them, one capable of climbing a tree to get a better plot of where they are, they might be able to find some friends out there. It’s not like he’s desperate any more, but defiantly curious about it all, could he really find more friends out there? At this rate more friends don’t seem like it could be a bad thing. And maybe, just maybe he could find something out there that will make him better, more interesting for trainer.
