Starfall

Entry for spring event in the Inkdrian Nebula! This could also be seen as a squeal to the Egg Hunt that both Eviegalaxy and I wrote two years ago! Also this is my first time posting literature on toyhouse so I'm sorry if something is missed up i'll try to fix it later.

A little bit of a warning for some occasional cursing. No F bombs or anything but still figured i'd put a warning down. Also fair warning that this is not beta read and very lightly edited so sorry for any mistakes that might be in here.

If there was anything Felicity loved more than cheerleading and believe her she loved cheerleading a lot it was meddling where she shouldn’t. She couldn’t help it! She was a go-getter, a ‘chase your dreams or someone else will’ kinda girl. She couldn’t stand to sit by and watch someone else miss out on their big break for something stupid like nerves or low self confidence. If there was any way at all she could help someone out she would. It was just who she was.

So when she just so happened to overhear Pyxis talking to one of his band friends about how he was gonna ask her older sister to the Starfall Celebration that weekend, there was no way she could stand by and do nothing.

First things first she had to make sure Asteria was actually going. Knowing her twin, she’d find some excuse to wiggle her way out of going, just like she tried with their senior year egg hunt the year prior.

Pyrix had been smart and sprung the question right as he was leaving the Allardyce household. He and Holt had been over for their weekly hang out, but Holt had left early having an early shift at his job the next morning.

After graduation the four of them made it a point to hang out before they all went off to college. None of them knew where they were going to end up and this could be the first time the four of them weren’t within driving distance of each other. Felicity took this the hardest, she had been friends with these boys all her life and being away from her big sister was an even harder pill to swallow. So she really loved and cherished these weekly hang out sessions because who knew when they would get the chance to do it again once they were all enrolled at their individual colleges?

When Pyrix crossed the threshold and paused at the front door, Felicity gripped the arms of her chair in anticipation and held her breath.

Pyrix’s shoulders drew up towards his neck then relaxed. He turned around and flashed his signature smile, “Hey, Ria? I got a quick question for you.”

Asteria looked up from her phone in surprise. She gave her boyfriend a quizzical look then answered hesitantly, “Uh yeah?”

“Would you go to the Starfall Celebration with me? You know, as a date?” He said quickly, his cheeks turning more red as the seconds went on.

At first Asteria only blinked dumbly at him, but when the words finally registered her face turned equally as red. She opened her mouth, probably to spout some utter nonsense to get herself out of the situation.

But before she could make up some bullshit excuse Felicity leaped across the table and slammed her hand over her sister’s mouth, “She loved to!” She smiled brightly at Pyrix, pointedly ignoring the sharp glare her sister threw her way.

“Great!” Pyxis said, nodding at Felicity in appreciation. “I’ll pick you up at six!”

And with that he was out the door as if the devil himself were chasing him.

Satisfied, Felicity sat back in her seat with a smug smile.

“What the hell?!” Asteria hissed at her.

Felicity shrugged, “I was doing you a favor. You’re welcome.”

Asteria vaulted over the table, her hands reaching for Felicity’s neck with a snarl.

Felicity squealed and darted out of the regal living room, her crazed twin right on her heels.

“Girls!” Their mother called from upstairs. “No running in the house!”

The following evening Felicity was practically vibrating with excitement. She peeked outside her window where her mother’s huge and beautiful garden lay in view. The sun was barely peeking over the tall hedges, ready to completely disappear any moment now. The Starfall Celebration would start the second the sun fully vanished from the sky and the stars were in full display. Can’t have a star themed festival without any stars after all.

The white and red inkdrian pulled her snow white curtains closed and turned back to her full length mirror. She ran her eyes over her figure from head to toe, making absolutely sure nothing was out of place and that there wasn't a wrinkle in sight.

Her reflection stared back at her in a knee length dress that was a bit longer in the back. The top was a causal black v neck that ended at the waist, the bottom a vibrate blue covered in stars and lines meant to emulate the look of constellations. At first she wasn't sure about the short black laced up boots, but now that she saw them together with the outfit she was glad she had ‘borrowed’ them from her sister. She liked the look a lot but there was something…..missing.

She snapped her fingers, a little light bulb going off in her head. She rushed to her walk in closet and quickly rummaged through her wardrobe until she found it.

“A-ha!” Felicity cried, pulling out a classic black porkpie hat.

Smiling brightly, Felicity rushed back over to her mirror and placed the hat on top of her head and tipped it to the right side so her flower was in full view. While she was at it she picked up a couple of thick bangles (that just so happened to be the same exact shade of blue as the bottom of her dress) from her jewelry box and threw them on her left wrist. Was it a bit extra? Sure, but she looked and felt cute and that’s all that mattered.

She did briefly debate taking off her sun locket since it didn’t really go with the whole star theme she was going for, but in the end she decided to say screw it. This locket meant too much to her for her to care about something as trivial as whether or not it matched her outfit.

“Asteria! Felicity!” Her father hollered. “Your friends are here!”

Oh crap, was it six o'clock already?! She hadn’t done anything with her hair yet! Man she was really looking forward to having her mother braid it too.

“Girls!” Her father shouted again.

Sighing, Felicity shot one last pout at her mirror and her not so cute straight hair before quickly grabbing her purse and power walked downstairs.

She flashed a dazzling smile at her father as she reached the bottom step. He nodded in her direction with a mumbled, “have fun,” then ascended the staircase past her. Felicity made her way to the main hallway and what she saw made her smile drop as a look of horror covered her face.

Asteria had beaten her to the foyer, but that wasn’t the issue. What in the world was she wearing?!  A plain white t-shirt and a pair of gray shorts?! For a date?! She couldn’t be serious!

If Pyxis wasn't standing beside her happily chatting away and staring at her as if she hung the moon in the sky, Felicity would have a few choice words for her older sister! She knew she should have dragged her ass with her to the mall this morning.

And if that wasn’t bad enough Holt was leaning on the wall beside the couple, with his hands stuffed in his black jackets pockets with a bored expression. He looked like he would rather be anywhere but here so that just begged the question of what the hell was he doing here in the first place?!

The plan was that Pyxis would pick up Felicity and Asteria in his car, drive them to the town’s center where Felicity and the couple would split. Felicity would go find her ‘friends’ as she claimed when in reality she would be checking up on her sister to make sure she wasn't self sabotaging her date and enjoy the night! Felicity’s crush since the third grade had not been in the equation!

Asteria was the first to notice Felicity’s presence, and a sly smirk appeared on her face. She flashed a quick look at Holt then said loudly in the most over the top way her twin could manage, “Oh wow Feliz! You look absolutely stunning. Right Holt?”

Oh that conniving little-! Felicity didn’t know what she did to drag Holt into this, but she was soooo getting her back for this! Yes, this might be her payback for setting her up on this date with Pyxis but come on they were already dating! Holt was just a friend and sometimes she wondered if they were even that. This was hardly fair!

Holt looked her up and down with a blank stare then quickly looked away, “Yeah, sure.” He muttered.

Ouch.

Asteria frowned and opened her mouth, but Pyxis ever the peacekeeper interpreted, “Looking good Feliz!” He winked at her. “We all ready to go?”

Okay, it’s fine. This is fine. She can deal with a quick car ride with her long time secret crush (secret as in she hasn't told anyone she liked Holt but pretty much all her friends and sister knew). It’s not like she had to be around him the whole night or anything.

Clutching her purse, Felicity stretched her lips into the most cheerful smile she could muster and chirped, “Yup! Let’s get this party started!”

A ten minute awkward car ride later (well awkward for Felicity, being forced to sit almost directly next to her crush that she didn't even know was going to this thing tonight!) and the group of four were finally at the Starfall Celebration. The sun had long set by the time they got out of the car.

Felicity had to admit she was impressed with the decorations and attractions. She thought the town would cheap out, but there were dozens of booths with various games, food, and vendors selling their wears. Up ahead Felicity could just barely make out the field where the main event the Starfall would take place and she couldn’t be more excited.

The Starfall Celebration took place every ten years in the middle of spring. The story behind the event Felicity couldn’t exactly remember. It was some Romeo and Juilet like story where two people fell in love but couldn’t be together for some reason? Gah Felicity always forgot the specifics, but long story short both the lovers die in some tragic way and Dreamweaver themselves felt so sorry for them that every ten years around the same time when the couple perished, dozens of stars will fall from the sky and to the planet to not only commemorate the star crossed lovers, but to give the gift of eternal love and happiness to whoever witness the event with their partner. Spring was often referred to as the season of love after all! Well mostly according to Felicity's bff Denise but whatever.

Felicity was more into the beauty of the starfall itself than the romance aspect of it. She didn’t need some stars to make her happy; she'd make her own happiness with or without romance. Her sister however…..yeah she could use all the help she can get. Which was why she was going to make sure this date went perfectly and that the two would end the night watching Starfall together and all that sappy stuff.

Pyrix’s grabbed Asteria’s arm and led her into the crowd of people. Something must have caught his attention because his eyes lit up like a child's at the site of a brand new toy. He didn’t even say goodbye to Felicity or Holt, they just left them there!

Felicity snorted. She fully intended to follow the couple when Holt suddenly grunted, “Don’t tell me you’re gonna follow those two dumbasses all night?”

“W-what?” Felicity sputtered. How did he know that?! “No of course not!”

Holt gave her a deadpan look, “Uh huh.” He shoved his hands into his jeans pocket. Geez he didn’t put any effort into his outfit. He was wearing his regular black jacket, white shirt, and black jeans. He was just as bad as Asteria.

Felicity placed her hands on her hips, “Oh yeah what about you Mr. I’m allergic to having fun without breaking any laws. You hate these kinds of things. Why are you here?”

Holt narrowed his eyes and let out a small ‘tsk’ before looking away, “Maybe I actually wanted to come, you ever think of that?”

Now it was Felicity’s turn to give him a dry look, “Azzy put you up to this didn’t she?” Might as well rip the bandaid off now then let herself foolishly hope that Holt had a sudden personality switch and actually wanted to spend time with her.

“No!” He said too quickly. Conforming her suspension.

Felicity sighed and blatantly ignored the stab to her heart. “Go home Holt.” She holstered her purse back up onto her shoulder, and began marching away from the knife hybrid inkdrain when she felt something grab her forearm.

“No,” she heard from behind her.

She blinked and slowly turned to face the red and black haired ink. “No?” She repeated.

“Your psycho twin will skin me alive if I let you stalk her and lover boy all night,” he said calmly, letting go of her arm.

Anger boiled in her core. Right cause Dreamweaver forbid he’d actually want to hang out with just her without Asteria having to threaten him! The same exact thing happened during the egg hunt last year. Did he only hang out with her because he liked Asteria and Pyxis and considered them his friends? Was she just the cliche annoying little sister that forced herself into every interaction? Was that all she was to him!?

Felicity could feel the tears that she absolutely refused to shed sting her eyes. She quickly turned away before Holt could notice her patheticness. Last thing she wanted was to prove everyone right about her being a crybaby. Excuse her for being a person with feelings.

“Whatever,” She forced her voice to be steady. “Do what you want, I don't care.”

She did in fact very much care. She cared a whole lot because Holt was following behind her as if he were her shadow and it was annoying! Yes she realized the irony when she was doing the exact same thing to Asteria and Pyrix but this was different! She was making sure her sister wasn't self sabotaging her own date! Holt was only here because Asteria threatened him or something. See? Totally different.

Speaking of the couple, Felicity finally spotted the two by one of the game booths. It was one of those fake shooting games that you often saw in movies. From what Felicity could tell it looked like Asteria and Pyxis were competing against each other.

Creeping as close as she could without being spotted, Felicity casually approached the booth right next to the fake shooting range, pretending to look interested in whatever game they had set up. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Asteria pump her gun in the air with a big smile on her face. Several lights in and around the booth started flashing while a high pitched alarm blared.

Pyxis put his gun down and shot his girlfriend a wide grin. He clapped and pretended to bow, congratulating her on her victory. Asteria rolled her eyes and playfully shoved him. The booth’s operator also congratulated Asteria for winning and asked her to pick her prize.

Felicity was stunned when he pulled down a hideous fish looking thing with the ugliest face she’s ever seen and handed it to her. She didn’t know her sister was into that sorta thing. But then Asteria smirked and handed the plush to Pyxis whose face turned so red, Felicity almost laughed.

Of course. That made so much more sense. Asteria wasn't into stuffed animals like that but Pyxis loved that stuff. The dumber it looked the better.

A surprising shot of envy shot through Felicity as Pyxis held the plush close to his chest with a goofy grin. They looked so happy….

With a heavy wistful sigh Felicity turned away from the couple and mindlessly traced her finger along the booth’s wooden edge. Maybe she didn’t need to intrude on her sister’s date. She seemed to be doing just fine without her.

“You keep doing that and you’re gonna get a splinter.”

Felicity jolted. Right Holt was still here. How could she forget?

She swallowed down her jealousy and smoothed her dress out to give her hands something to do. Speaking of something to do, what the heck was she going to do now? Most of her friends were here with their own partners and she really didn’t feel like third wheeling tonight.

“Wanna try your luck little lady?” An obnoxiously fake cheery voice asked.

Felicity looked up and the operator of the booth she was standing at was staring straight at her with the most artificial smile she had ever seen.

“Um,” She threw a look behind him to see what kind of ‘game’ it was and cringe.

Behind the old ink were little balloons in a wide variety of colors littering the back wall. Oh, Dreamweaver it was one of those games where you had to throw darts and pop one of the balloons. She was horrible at this game. She either completely missed the mark or didn’t throw the dark hard enough to pop the stupid rubbery crap.

Just as she opened her mouth to politely decline she spotted something out of the corner of her eye that made her jaw drop. In the corner of the booth straight above her was a white alicorn plushie with a sun and moon stitched together on its flank and bright red hair! It was everything she loved wrapped into one plushie!

Determination running through her veins Felicity gave the clearly bored but trying to hide it ink a fierce look and asked, “How much?”

Thirty bucks, nine darts, and zero balloons popped later and Felicity slumped against the booth in defeat, “Maaaannnn!” She whined.

She had been so close with the last one but the stupid dart completly bounced off the balloon which was so not fair!

“Ooohhh so close,” the old fart mocked with a chuckle, pocketing her money. “Better luck next time.”

Felicity’s face burned red in embarrassment. It was one thing to shamelessly take her money, like duh that was his job, but he didn’t have to be so snarky about it!

She threw one last sorrowful look at the alicorn plushie silently apologizing for not saving it from this man’s terror, ready to give up and walk away, when someone slapped another ten dollar bill beside her.

“I wanna have a go at it,” Holt said nonchalantly, but Felicity didn’t miss the hard look in his eyes.

The ten was taken and replaced with three darts. Holt picked one up and tapped the point with his finger. He stared at it with narrowed eyes then held it up by his ear before flinging it at one of the balloons. Felicity’s heart leaped out of her chest when it hit a blue one in the middle like a bullseye, but then her shoulder slumped as the dart bounced off just like her last one did.

Holt picked up the second dart and once again tapped it with his finger. Felicity tilted her head to the side in confusion, but said nothing as he effortlessly threw the dart at the exact same blue balloon only for it to once again bounce away. What the heck were these things made of?

The knife hybrid didn’t look discouraged however. Honestly Felicity was surprised he wasn't getting angry and cursing up a storm like he normally did. Instead Holt calmly picked up the last dark and once again tapped his finger against the point.

Unable to hold back her curiosity, Felicity opened her mouth to question why he was doing that when Holt abruptly grunted, “Yo man, I didn’t want to say anything, but your flies down.”

The booth’s operator's face turned a bright shade of red. Without a word he turned his back towards them. At the same time Holt grinned and pulled a dart out of his pocket then flung it at the balloon in the middle. It popped, causing the older male ink to jump.

Holt quickly pocketed the other dart and masked his expression when the operator turned back towards him with wide eyes. He shook himself out of his stupor and gave the two young inkdrians a tight smile.

“Congratulations!” He applauded, grinding his teeth together. “Pick any prize you want.”

Holt inclined his head towards the alicorn plush that Felicity had been eyeballing earlier and her heart swelled.

If looks could kill the glare the operator threw Holt’s way would have obliterated him. With an annoyed grumble the older ink pulled a stool out and got the white and red winged unicorn plush down and handed it to Holt. The red and black ink immediately shoved it towards Felicity and walked off without another word.

Felicity stared after him dumbly. She clutched the plushie towards her chest and ran after her companion, “You cheated.” She said once she caught up with him.

Holt snorted, “Yeah, and? Those games are rigged to hell and back, they can afford to lose one stupid stuffed animal.”

She tilted her head to the side, “What do you mean?”

He gave her a dry look, “Please tell me you’re not that naive.”

When she only blinked at him he sighed and continued, “How do you think they make their money without spending it all on those cheap toys? They rig the games and make them impossible to win. Every now and then they’ll let someone win just so people will see their prizes while they’re walking around and draw them to the booth to waste their money on.”

Something clicked in Felicity’s head, “That’s why you keep tapping your finger on the points! You were checking to see how sharp they were.” She breathed.

Holt nodded, “Yeah and they were all dull as hell. You could throw them as hard as you wanted there was no way you were popping those small ass balloons.”

That explained why they kept bouncing off the balloons when she actually hit them.

“Wait….that doesn’t explain why you had a random dart in your pocket.”

“Does it matter? I won you that stupid stuffed animal didn’t I?”

Felicity looked down at the alicorn in her arms, it was pretty decent in size. She smiled and hugged it, “You did….thank you.”

“W-whatever,” Holt sputtered, turning his face away from her. “I only did it to wipe that smug look off that bastard’s face.”

“Of course,” Felicity giggled.

Holt rubbed the back of his neck and she could see him watching her from the corner of her vision, but she didn’t comment on it. She was too happy to ruin whatever this was between them.

They spent the next several hours roaming up and down the town center. They played a couple other games (without cheating much Holt’s annoyance), checked out some shops, (Felicity bought Holt a new pocket knife as thanks for the stuffed animal), and were now standing in line to get some much needed food.

Felicity thanked the pizza vendor, grabbed both Holt and her meals and sat across from Holt at one of the many tables scattered around the makeshift food court. Normally she wouldn’t indulge in such greasy high carb junk food, but what the heck one night wouldn’t kill her.

“Hey you two! Having fun?” Pyxis grinned, pulling up a chair and sitting beside Holt.

Felicity smiled as Asteria sat beside her, “Yeah. Tonight’s been really great actually.” She spied the plush Asteria had won earlier on Pyxis’ shoulder. How he was balancing that thing without it falling she would never know.

“Interesting plushie,” She commented.

“Oh this little guy?” Pyxis’ grin grew ever wider. “His name is Walter and he is officially our son.”

Asteria groaned and leaned back in her seat, “For the last time that thing is not our child!”

Pyxis let out a dramatic gasp and covered the plush’s nonexistent ears, “Ria! How curel!”

Felicity laughed as her sister dragged her hand down her face. At least things seemed to be going well for them. Guess Felicity really didn’t need to intervene in her sister’s love life.

Asteria gently nudged Felicity’s arm and nodded towards the alicorn in her lap, “Looks like you got your own stuffed toy. I figured you’d get at least one tonight.”

“Yeah! I saw it and knew I had to have it! The game was really hard though. I don’t want to admit how much money I lost trying to get this gal,” she cringed at the memory. “Holt’s actually the one who won it for me.”

“With or without cheating?” Asteria snorted.

Holt flipped her off without looking up from his pizza.

“To be fair, these games are rigged to heck and back. They can afford to lose one stuffed animal,” Felicity said, repeating Holt’s words from earlier.

The corner of Holt’s mouth rose into a tiny smirk.

Pyxis looked down at his watch and let out a low whistle, “Woah guys it’s almost time for the Starfall, we better hurry to the field if we wanna get a good spot.”

Felicity’s eyes widen. It couldn't have been that late could it? There was no way they had been here that long! It felt like they had just gotten here! But sure enough after checking her phone, Pyxis was right. It was already nine thirty, the Starfall was predicted to start at ten o'clock sharp.

They group quickly finished their food and hurried over to the field. Thankfully not too many people were there yet, so they managed to snag a spot smack dab in the middle.

Pyxis prepared as always, gently laid down a couple blankets for them all to lounge on. Felicity appreciated that greatly. Her outfit was way too cute to ruin with grass stains.

Asteria flopped on her back and closed her eyes as if she were about to fall asleep. Pyxis seizing any opportunity to annoy his girlfriend dropped right on top of her.

“Pyxis!” Asteria gasped out. “Get off of me! You’re heavy!”

“Are you calling me fat?” Pyxis pouted down at her.

“If I say yes will you get off me?”

“Hmmm…..no.”

“Pyxis I swear to Dreamweaver-!”

“But Riiaaaaa!” Pyxis whined, nuzzling his head into her neck. “You’re so comfy!”

“No one will find your body when I'm done with you,” Asteria threatened, but Pyxis just pretended to snore really loudly. He dealt with Asteria enough to know her threats were always empty.

Felicity chortled watching the two with a sad smile.

Holt lightly nudged her with his knee, “What’s got you all mopey now?”

“I am not mopey,” She huffed.

Holt rolled his eyes and poked her cheek, “Yeah you are. The light in your eyes dim whenever you’re upset about something.”

Felicity didn’t know what to say to that. She was surprised Holt paid enough attention to her to notice something small like that.

She chewed on the inside of her cheek and looked down at her lap. Her hands were tangled in her plushie's fake hair.

“I”m just….gonna miss this. Hanging out with you guys. College is gonna feel really lonely without you three,” She quietly admitted. It felt good to finally get it off her chest. She hadn't even told her fears to Asteria, not wanting to burden her sister or make her feel guilty for going to a different college.

That’s what’s been making you act like someone killed your puppy all these months?” Holt laughed.

“It’s not funny!” Felicity pouted as the knife hybrid continued to laugh. “I’m serious!”

“I know you are,” He said, wiping a tear from his eye. “Come on Fel you act like we’re all going to war or something. It’s just college. We can still meet up and hang out on holidays and stuff.”

“I know,” She sighed. “It’s just……I’m really gonna miss you guys.”

Holt stared at her for a couple moments, not saying a word. Eventually he sighed and whipped a finger under her eye, “Geez you’re such a crybaby.” He muttered softly.

Oh…wow…Felicity didn’t realize she had started crying. She quickly turned away and whipped away the rest of her tears with her palms, but they wouldn’t stop coming. She hissed in annoyance. Darn it for once could she not be so overly emotional! She really was a crybaby.

She heard shuffling from behind her and gasped when two arms wrapped around her waist then pulled her against a hard chest.

“Look,” Holt murmured, pointing up at the sky. “It’s staring.”

Ignoring the burn of her cheeks Felicity gingerly looked up at the sky and her eyes widened. Dozens of bright lights shot across the sky, painting the horizon a brilliant white. It was beautiful. She looked over at her sister and Pyxis. They were lying side by side laughing and watching the Starfall with bright smiles.

“No matter what happens,” Holt whispered. “No matter where we all are, we're still gonna be there when you need us, Fel. Remember that.”

Felicity’s throat felt too tight to respond, as more tears fell from her eyes. But this time they were tears of happiness.

“Careful,” She said once she found her voice. “You’re gonna make me think you actually like me.”

“Yeah?” She could practically feel him smirk. “And what would you say if I said I did like you?”

“That I like you too,” She whispered. “A lot.”

“Good,” He squeezed her gingerly. “Cause you’re not getting rid of me anytime soon. Not now. Not ever.”

She rested her hands on top of Holt’s and leaned further into him and watched the Starfall with a genuine smile.

He was right. Everything would be okay. No matter how far apart the four of them were they would always find their way back to one another.

Bonus Scene (Ft. A joke Evie and I came up with like four years ago. Enjoy!)

“Azzy this is soooo unnecessary,” Felicity whined trailing after her sister.

Asteria’s jaw tightened as she grinded her teeth together. She carried her favorite rapier in her hand as she marched into the backyard of their parents mansion. Where she even got that sword Felicity would never know.

“This is stupid!” Felicity continued, “I didn’t demand Pyxis to duel me for your honor or whatever bullcrap you said to Holt when you two started dating!”

“You’re my younger sister! I have to make sure he’s worthy enough to date you!”

Felicity groaned and sent a pleading look to her parents as they exited the house where they and Pyxis sat waiting for them. Holt was the only one not there yet.

Her mother only grinned and shrugged while taking a sip of her whine. Her father gave her a sympathetic pat on the shoulder with a shake of his head. Ugh! Was everyone in her family insane / complacent?! This was ridiculous!

“Pyxis! Tell your girlfriend to stop being crazy!” She cried in one last attempt to put this absurd thing to rest.

Pyxis lifted his eyebrow at her as he longed in one of the fancy and expensive lawn chairs her mother recently bought, “You think I have any control of her when she’s being overprotective of you? You have way more faith in me than you should.”

Felicity once again groaned and plopped down next to Pyxis, rubbing her forehead. She knew she should have kept her mouth shut when they got home from the Starfall Celebration. But nooooo she just had to go and blab to her parents in earshot of her sister about how she and Holt got together.

Speak of the devil, the red and black knife hybrid pushed open the backdoor in a dramatic fashion.

Asteria glared at him as he walked over, “There you are! Are you ready to…..what is that on your wrist?”

Holt smirked and held his arm up where a…..w-was that a Yugioh duel disk? His grin faulted as he eyed the sword Asteria held. “Wait……this isn't what you meant when you said you wanted to duel?”

Asteria blinked at him with a blank look on her face than facepalmed. She turned to Felicity with a look that screamed, “Are you sure you wanna date him?”

Pyxis started laughing so hard he fell out of his chair.

Felicity shook her head with a smile and looked at Holt who looked more disappointed than anything. Dreamweaver she loved this man.
