Berries and baking

Salmonberry wanders carefully through the woods. She was hoping to find blackberries today, but she didn’t know exactly where they were. She stumbles upon some oyster mushrooms and decides to pick some of those up as well. Lullaby is trying her best to quietly follow behind through the underbrush. Salmonberry turned as she saw the bushes rustle about, but pretended not to notice. Lullaby swayed her tail happily as she watched her lover forage without a care, but still listening out for any trouble that could be near. Salmonberry finally gets to the blackberry grove she had seen a week earlier and smiles cheerfully as she begins picking the berries. 

Lullaby gets bored of waiting to be noticed and jumps out of the bushes, carefully nudging at Salmonberry. “Aw, hey love! I thought you were at home!” Salmonberry practically chirps with delight as she kisses her wife's nose before turning to grab some berries for her as well. Lullaby grumbles and lays down fully.
“I missed you.” Lullaby thumps her tail against the ground, opening her mouth to receive the berries. 

“I missed you too my love, but I wasn’t going to be out long.” Salmonberry feeds Lullaby and smiles,
“You are so kind. I love you for that.” Lullaby blushes a bit at the compliment and nuzzles up against Salmonberry. “Do you want to help me pick these blackberries Lullaby? The best ones are always at the top of the vines!” Lullaby nods and lets Salmonberry climb onto her head, reaching up so that Salmon can get as many berries as possible without falling or pricking herself on the thorns.
“We can make a pie tonight! It can be a special dessert for the two of us.” Lullaby grins her toothy grin and agrees,
“I would love that, Salmonberry. We should get home to make it as soon as possible!” Salmonberry giggles and pats Lullaby's head as a signal for her to put Salmonberry down.
 “Ok ok, we can go home now. I have plenty of what I need so I guess we can head back.” Salmonberry walks ahead and motions for Lullaby to come along.
“Come on, let’s get home before sundown.” Lullaby smiles and picks Salmonberry back up, placing her on her back as Lullaby sprints home.
“Pie, here we come!” Salmonberry shouts as they make their way back from which they came.

 When they arrive home, Salmonberry kicks off their shoes and runs into the kitchen. She pulls out everything needed from bowls, to whisks, to rolling pins! Lullaby rushes in as well, careful not to make anything fall as she grabs the ingredients. Their laugher and the smell of blackberries fills the air as they cook together. Salmonberry being the one to clean up along the way. Lullaby keeps getting distracted and trying to be affectionate with Salmonberry but she laughs it off and continues baking. Soon they are ready to put the pie in the oven. Salmonberry sets a timer for a twenty minute wait and Lullaby smiles.
“Do I get cuddles now?” “Yes, yes you do love.” Lullaby races into the living room and curls up on the floor.
“Come on, come on, come on!” Salmonberry rushes over and jumps into Lullaby’s arms, kissing her nose once again.
“I’m here! Now hush so we can wait for the pie to be ready.” Lullaby rumbles and curls up around Salmonberry’s small frame. “I love you Salmon.”
“I love you too Lullaby.” They smile at each other and watch the sun go down through the window as they wait for their dessert to finish baking.
