Was thinking about team dynamics and how these three bounce of eachother. Both Sylvester and Chester are prone to over thinking things and freaking out if things don't go as planned, so Vincent is a good balance to that.

Plus I haven't really explored Vincent's character all too much so I wanted to write something with him.

They were huddled in one of the many musty alleyways of Galimi. The metallic clang of bullets ringing out and the harsh sound of barked orders echoed through the streets. A cold, nauseating feeling washed over Sylvester. It could of been from the rain soaking through his clothes, but he knew it wasn’t. They’d messed up. They had really messed up.

Milky beams of light ghosted over the streets, scanning for things out of the ordinary, scanning for them. His pulse thudded in his throat.

Sylvester was breathing through his nose, jaw clenched tight. Chester was pressed close enough against him that Sylvester could feel him shaking. Vincent’s gaze was locked on the opening of the alleyway.

But there was something about his eyes that made Sylvester pause. If only for a moment, he forgot the danger they were all in.

His eyes were steady. Body tensed, but not shaking. Viper gleamed gold in the dim lighting, curled and powerful like a snake ready to strike.

Vincent blew out a slow breath. A cloud of chilled air left his lips. He turned to Sylvester, voice even, “Alright Syl. What’s the plan.”

What’s the plan?” Chester hissed, “We’re fucked.”

“No we’re not,” Vincent replied, not at all deterred by Chester’s very accurate assessment of the situation, “I still got Viper and you still have your ability.” He pointed to Chester’s left eye that was currently glowing, mostly out of anxiety. He then tapped his head, “And Sylvester’s still got his brain. I’d say we’re doing pretty good all things considered.” Vincent grinned.

Despite how stupid and ridiculous Vincent’s words were, Sylvester felt his thoughts clearing. His pulse slowed to a more relaxed pace. Sylvester could see it having the same effect on Chester. His eye flickered out, and his hands only twitched instead of shook.

And maybe it wasn’t his words that affected them. Maybe it was just him. The fact that he could stand there and keep it together, even smile. Just being around him, it cooled something in Sylvester.

Still smiling, Vincent looked towards him again, “Well? You got anything Syl?”

“Yeah...” Sylvester breathed out. “Yeah, I think I might.”

I'm going to run out of generic one word titles eventually and then I'm going to cry
