Overview of how plurality works for void's children, as well as etiquette and how they interact with pre-existing plural communities on Atovis.

Plurality for void's children (VC) differs slightly from those experiencing it who are native to Atovis, but not by a lot. The main differences are how they're referred to and treated--most VC systems/collectives dislike the term "alter", and will make it very clear that their plurality is not a result of trauma. They're all very very much their own person, and tend to be very open about it; pins/buttons with names and pronouns are common adornments for VC systems, especially with smaller systems.

Just as with systems who are native to Atovis, VC systems can have a wide range of members--anywhere from two to hundreds. That being said, they can't split more members, members aren't able to integrate, and they don't have interojects. It's less a phenomenon of the brain, and moreso multiple spirits (of a sort) sharing a body, all of which were pre-existing. There are cases of both singlets and pre-existing systems suddenly getting void's children headmates during the planar earthquake, and while it is rather rare, both are readily accepted into the plural community.

While it's not always the case, VC systems almost always have a very developed headspace. There is a correlation between how large a headspace is and how many members there are in a system, but as always, there are outliers. Headspaces can vary wildly, ranging from something akin to a black void, to a large house-like space, to an entire world that can be explored by headmates.

VC systems tend to adjust more easily to the material plane than singlet VC do (due to the opportunity to take turns fronting and being able to consult with others in their head for support), and headspaces tend to mirror the immaterial plane at first and grow into a more material-plane-adjacent space as they adjust to Atovis. Headmates don't always agree and personalities can clash, and some VC adjust to fronting and switching more easily than others, but it's generally viewed as a mainly positive state of existence for most VC.
