First meeting

Somata walked along a well worn path he’d walked hundreds of times before, of course it was the edge of his territory that he patrolled religiously. If he hadn’t been using his heat vision he wouldn’t have seen them at all but as it always is during his patroles he was using his heat vision to the fullest extent. Somata approached the long grass a few yards from his territory line trying in vain to spot the Sor without heat vision. They were incredibly good at hiding and Somata was increasingly impressed as no matter how close he got to the grass there was no hint of the other Sor’s existence. “Who are you?” Somata shouted, he did his best to stand intimidatingly, bristling the fur along his neck and lashing his tail making sure the light hit his spikes. The Sor in the grass shifted, slowly slinking out into the light. Their scales and spikes caught Somata’s attention Pretty… he shook his head quickly to clear those kinds of thoughts. “Lǎohǔ” the tiger striped Sor said, “My name, definitely didn’t have the most creative parents” they laughed nervously. “Sorry, I didn’t realize this land was taken? I was just looking for food, and a place to stay the night.” Somata swallowed, nodding. “You could, could uh stay with me?” He could feel his embarrassment rising as he looked into Lǎohǔ’s green eyes. They seemed to shimmer with excitement at the offer. “Really? Thank you! Can I do anything to make it up to you? Or anything I can help with?” Somata coughed trying to hide his embarrassment as he turned starting towards the center of his territory leading the way to his camp. “Don’t worry about it” he glanced back making sure Lǎohǔ was following and keeping up, “your a guest. You can uh, stay as long as you want”
