It was the middle of the night when they were sent out to patrol. Walking beside Origin, Alpha had exchanged her M21 for an M16. She had tried to fight with Iota about it, but the commander insisted that using a sniper rifle for potential close combat was one of the dumbest ideas she'd ever heard of. When Perigee, her fellow sniper, took sides with her mother, Alpha knew that there was no point in arguing any further. She was still annoyed about the entire thing, but didn't dare to make a fuss in front of Iota again, and so she angrily fiddled with the M16 in her hands as they walked. Origin would stare down at her every once in a while, contemplating whether or not it would be a risky move to ask her what was wrong. When she caught his eye, though, he knew he no longer had a choice.

"So," he began cautiously, with a slightly nervous smile. "What's up?" Alpha flashed him an angry glare but didn't say much for a few moments. She huffed to herself and turned her gaze forward again, holding the rifle tightly in her hands as they both entered a dark alleyway. "Did, er, Intershitter piss you off again?" Okay. Alpha couldn't help but smile a bit at the insulting nickname. She might have been in a bad mood, but shit-talking one of her least favorite entities in the district could always bring a smile to her face.

"Not yet," she muttered. "Although I did hear Iota tell him and Omega to work together." She growled angrily and gripped the gun in her hands tightly. Her finger was worryingly close to the trigger. Origin moved away from her. "I swear, if that blue-eyed piece of shit does something to her, I'll kill everyone and then myself." Origin looks exasperated.

"Why everyone?" he asks. "I didn't do anything..."

"Hush, vantie." Origin winces a bit at the slur. He's been kind and cooperative enough with these faults. Why do they continue to call him names? It's not like he's the worst advantage--he huffs to himself as his mind momentarily drifts to Hardware. Shouldn't him being here be enough to tell them that he's on their side?

"Thanks," he mutters, his mood now gone a little sour. Alpha narrows her eyes a bit at the sound of his tone, but doesn't look up. "You know, I hate him as much as you. I hate the NAM as much as you. No need to say those things..." He can't help but rant at her a little bit, but right now was his only chance. Had he done something like this earlier, he risked the rest of the faults ganging up at him; and he'd rather not feel the searing pain of a glitch.

"Oh, is the big boy in a bad mood?" Alpha asked. Her mood has dropped as well. Her thoughts keep drifting to her sister and to Interstellar, to death and tragedy, to hatred and revenge. How could Iota be so stupid? Why put those two together? That was like putting Emerald with Flare. Nothing will end well.

"You know, I'm trying," Origin hissed suddenly. He came to a halt, and with a heavy sigh, Alpha stopped a few paces in front of him and turned around to look up at his glowing yellow eyes. She narrowed her eyes a bit.

"Trying what?"

"To make you all realize that I'm not the real enemy." He shifts his M60 around and adjusts some of the magazines strapped across his torso. "You're not the only one. Sure, I get you're pissed off. But don't take it out on me." He returns her glare. Lifting a brow, and feeling challenged, Alpha stands a bit straighter and gives him a hard stare.

"You advantages are so full of angst, I swear," she said.
