The clouds in the sky were announcing the arrival of the rain, but the three didn’t seem too worried about climate change. In summer it was probably easy to encounter some rain on the path, and the twins Rokuro and Nanakuma knew it very well.

The two tobiano boys and Hildegard, the noble duve lady, were walking on the path following the footprints of the mountain goats but they needed to hurry if they wanted to be sure to have followed them. With rain, in fact, it would have been difficult to follow the traces.

“I think we’re close” said Rokuro.

His dark blue color, where the tobiano wasn’t affecting his coat, was different from the one of his brother, who had a grape violet base. Both of them were showing rosettes and Rokuro had also a beautiful tabby marking running on his back.

“I can see something from here” added Hildegard, aiming in front of herself.

Not far from the reoseans were, in fact, there were some high rocks and a rock wall with some small figures that were jumping on it with incredible balance. Mountain goats were famous for their ability to challenge gravity but the main problem would have been to find a way to catch them, for the three.

“I think we should divide” proposed Nanakuma, looking at the prey.

The other two nodded and in short the group decided to set a plan and they discussed the best tactic to use before dividing into three groups. The surprise effect would have been necessary to scare the prey so Nanakuma took the path that was conducted in the highest part of the area, while Hildegard took the opposite way, in the middle. Rokuro waited at the base of the rock wall until he was sure the two companions were ready, looking at the goats climbing the mountain.

The wind whispered through the trees and the mountains, announcing the arrival of summer with his breath. Roenden in summer was easier to handle, especially because snow wasn’t present in the plain cities but only in the high mountains.

Thus Rokuro waited for the signal and when everyone was ready he started the hunt, running after some goats that were still at the base of the rock wall. It wasn’t so high to be considered properly a mountain itself, but it was clear that the vayrons needed to scare the goats to make them run to the upper part, where Nanakuma was waiting for them.

Not far from the prey, Hildegard waited until the goats were close enough to be scared and possibly assaulted. In some minutes the prey started to run over the rock wall, agitated and frightened by Rokuro and some goats finished pushing the others in the chaos created.

The prey which were at the top of the wall tried to jump over to run away but at the top Nanakuma was waiting for them. With a quick move he jumped over a goat and they started a fight in which the vayron was biting the prey and they tried to kick him in the body.

Unfortunately for the goat, Nanakuma was strong and he finished his part of the hunt as fast as possible.

Not far from there, the varnish girl was waiting for the perfect moment and it arrived in short: one of the goats was too close to the point in which the duve puller was waiting for and in that moment she came out from her hideout.

Fast and strong, Hildegard used all of her strength to catch the prey on the neck, while the goat did their best to run away, but without success. Slowly life abandoned their body and the duve puller could bring them to another place, in which she and Nanakuma could have met again after that satisfactory hunt.

The last one was Rokuro, at the base of the small rock wall. For him it would have been difficult to reach one of the goats because the rock was difficult to climb, but he jumped suddenly on it, doing his best to resist.

Putting the paws on the small protrusions, he tried not to fall down and with all the possible balance he tried to elongate his body in one of the goat’s direction.

Unfortunately the prey were fast and they started also to kick in the air, trying to hit the vayron, that luckily dodged.

Understanding that day it was too difficult for him, Rokuro decided to return to the grass field and in short he reached his brother and his friend, both with a prey on their side.

“Are you okay?” asked Hildegard, worried.

Rokuro nodded. He was almost talking when his twin started to laugh. He was clearly making fun of him, but Rokuro smiled and looked at the sky with a soft glance in his eyes.

Next time would have been better, he was sure about it.
