To get away from the stress of noble life, Sam surrounds herself with plants and music.

Proficient in many instruments, Sam has many to choose from whenever she wants to play. The one she picks depends on her mood – happiness, she goes for light hearted instruments, while something like despair she goes for instruments like the piano.

Feeling stressed as she is now, Sam ventures into her private gardens, where she has many instruments strewn throughout. During high times of this particular emotion, Sam likes to take it out with wind instruments – the flute being her favorite.

Sitting in the middle of the gardens, Sam picks up her flute with a smile resting on her lips. She brings it to them, doing a few preliminary notes. Her magic is rooted in sound and music, and each time she plays, it’s like the instruments talk back to her.

Sam loves when she can close herself off to the world and enjoy sounds, music, and nature.

There’s nowhere else she’d rather be, no matter what emotions she’s going through.

The next best thing for Sam is traveling to learn about plant life, and she’d just returned from an escapade before coming to her private abode. Her father, who’s your textbook definition of snobby noble, gave her grief for leaving to study about plants of all things.

“You must take your nobility seriously, not go off to study plants. Learn your place.”

Sam said nothing to her father’s words, but grit her teeth and nodded. It’s all she could do in that situation.

Shaking her head to rid herself of the unpleasant thoughts, Sam closes her eyes and brings her lips to her flute, playing the first few notes and letting the sound soothe her weary mind.

As Sam continues to play, letting her breath become the music itself, it feels like it’s cascading around her, protecting her from whatever thoughts dare to plague her. Sam loves when this happens. Everything’s forgotten – everything except the beautiful notes floating around her form.

Sam can’t help but smile into the instrument as she continues to play, feeling like the music is removing every bad thought and worry from her soul. And when she stops playing, her lungs burn pleasantly and a happy smile quirks her lips.

Her heart feels light and full of positive emotion. Placing the flute back in its case, Sam sits by roses, inhaling the fresh scent of the flowers. She’s beyond thankful her father doesn’t know about this place – no one does. It’s her sacred heaven and Sam will keep it that way.

Laying back against plush grass and looking at the clouds billowing in the sky, Sam wants to stay here forevermore. However, knowing that she’ll have to face the real world eventually makes Sam cherish when she’s in her haven.

She’ll go back eventually.

For now, she’ll enjoy the lightness in her heart, the plants giving her peace, and the music dancing around her. When she’s ready, she'll face the cold, cruel reality.

Until then, Sam is content.
