Character interaction. Nix and Chain.

~~~
Nix was still too new to the Imp's Garden. She had no idea why she was invited to stay here, was it some sort of pity party? Then again the Mayors said they could leave any time they wanted... She wasn't sure what to make of this place. It felt so small yet too big. Like she was lost in a big hedge maze.
Stopping under a tree she peeks around it to look at another person sitting by the pond on a bench. They looked a bit like her which is why it they were so curious to her. She wasn't use to meeting other teddies that weren't bright and happy. But this guy looked like a rock and a storm cloud had a baby. Gripping the tree bark, she takes a big breath and stomps her way over to the stranger.
The stone gray bear looks up to her, just blinking slowly. It seems he had been crying based on how puffy his eyes were. They both waited, staring at each other for a long moment.
"I'm Nix." the spikey purple bear proclaimed loudly, which she regretted watching him flinch from the noise.
"Hi Nix. I am Chain N. Bearrette." He said slowly, wondering if he should extend a paw or not.
Nix looked around him, noticing the big long links of chain connecting to a ball, "What's that?" She points at the ball.
Chain looks behind him, "That's my tail." Nix tilted her head at that stepping over to try and pick up the ball. After a big grunt she realizes she can't even budge it!!! So much for it being a toy. Looking back to Chain, he was watching her curiously. "Most people can't move it."
She frowns at him, "How do YOU move it? Do you just live here?" She exclaims again, seems she has a lot more energy than she realized watching Chain flinch again.
"Uhm... I just can." He shrugs and stands up dusting himself off a little. Bits of grass falling to the ground. He turns to Nix and the ball, as he's shuffling around Nix can clearly see the chain's connection between the ball and his rump. He leaned down and plucked the ball off the grass as if it was nothing. Nix reached out and tried to take the ball from his paws, "Uhhh, I wouldn't do that if I were you.." Chain didn't get to finish his sentence before she pulled the ball into her gasp and immediately plummeted to the ground.
Nix blushed and growled, "This is stupid. You can't make splashes with this." She got up, kicking a bit of grass at his ball. Hearing an odd noise she looked up to see Chain was trying to muffle a laugh with his paw.
"Uhm, no. I will sink. I can't swim." He cleared his throat, "Can you skip stones? That's like splashing." Chain looked around and picked up a few things. Presenting his paws to her, there were several flat and smooth rocks to choose from. After Nix took a few for herself, "Here, like this." Chain turns towards the pond and flicks a stone across the water's surface for a couple bounces before it makes a little ker-plook noise and sinks.
"Ohhh!!!" Nix smiles really big showing off those big sharp metal teeth. She tries to throw a pebble over her head but it just makes a loud splash leaving her stumped looking between the water and the gray bear.
"Haha, you have to throw it like this. It spins the rock, see? Then the rock can run across the water." He takes another rock and shows her how to pose her arm. "Let's both go on three. 1... 2... 3!" They both whipped their paws and the stones went skipping across the surface. They both laughed, "It worked!"
Nix smiled at Chain and he smiled back. Maybe staying here wouldn't be such a bad idea, Nix thought to herself.
