THIS DETAILS A INCIDENT BETWEEN MAY 30TH - JUNE 15TH. PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN READING.

The day before our great show… and greatest mistake, one might say. Two twins perform on stage, giving their all. Being cheered on by the crowd, with one thing missing. The acknowledgment of the two twins. We were seen as two separate people, not that we aren’t but… we truly are a pair of twins who are idols.

People truly turn a blind eye to clear favoritism, and I am tired of it. I will put an end to it and show that we’re different, so different that we’re not comparable. I will show them what can happen if it goes too far when the bridge burns down. What happens when the sweet blossom begins to wilt.

I will take back my own honest heart, and my ways, through this painful day. Now, shall the show begin?

It was like any other day, a performance day, a day to practice for the big day tomorrow. The twins were preparing as they should, as it is to be perfect. The studio was quiet today, with just a few folding tables to hold the necessary stuff on. Cider sighs, reading a speech they had written the other night. It was a cliche speech, a thank you speech of everything. The twins weren’t stopping their idol careers anytime soon, it’s just the producers wanted to be dramatic. Oh how this annoyed Cider, they just wanted to tear up the speech and practice their vocals, but alas, that was never going to work out for them. A familiar voice called their name.

“Cider! Hey!” Cider looked up from their papers and saw the bright bubblegum pink hair they know too well.

“Oh, hey Bubbles.” Cider said, very monotone and bored.

“Hm? What’s wrong?” Bubbles asked, kind of worried. He has never seen Cider this bored, or even this upset as it seems.

“Oh nothing, I just have to write this stupid speech. Why do I even need to do this anyway??? It sounds like I and Cinder aren’t going to perform anymore?” They said, getting frustrated looking at the speech. Bubbles’ expression turned into a frown, and they then sat down in a folding chair next to the kid.

“Uhm, that’s a good question.” They thought to themselves, as Cider just stared at them. Bubbles was so deep in his thoughts, thinking of a good enough answer. They then began to open their mouth again.

“Hm, maybe they just want you to give a thoughtful message to the fans? I guess…?” He scratched the back of his head, even confused himself as to why the producers would want a speech from the twins. Another question was why Cider was in particular… but before that could be answered or even asked, Bubbles was picked up by a Scytech staff member. The mascot's life is surely not easy.

Cider looked back at their paper and just made a sour face at it. Cinder came in with some clean towels and some extra water bottles.

“Hey, are you ready to start practice for the show? You can work on the speech later.” Cinder said, as Cider just nodded, putting the paper down. It was hurting their head anyways to look over it. The two practiced all they knew, to make this the best performance yet, to guarantee it will be.

It was finally the day of the performance. It was going to be the best, the twins had done all the preparations they needed to do the day before. There was still, however, an empty hole in Cider’s heart… and an aching concern about what could happen. They thought of every bad possible thing that could happen, but what did happen wasn’t terribly likely. The anxious fox turned towards their brother, who seemed to be sort of nervous as well.

“Hey, let’s make this the best we can, okay?” Cider said to Cinder, rubbing his back a bit. He couldn’t help but give a little nod. Cider decided to look out at the crowd. Well damn– it was a lot of people… maybe a little too many people for their own liking, but they’ll be fine, right?

The sticking favoritism for Cider always rubbed the knight the wrong way, especially since their brother was equally, if not more, capable of it all. Cider wasn’t… meant for the spotlight as they thought. Just what happened next left everyone shocked.

Cider did end up having a breakdown on stage during the first break, crumpling up the dumb paper, and tossing it away. They seemed to change, all so suddenly… and everything went black.

After the black fog had faded, it was noted that the stage was… somewhat destroyed. Particularly the top part. Most were evacuated, and the knights came to see what was going on. However, the curtains closed before they could get a good look at their captain’s changed appearance.

A mysterious figure walked towards Cider…

“Cider, can you come here please?” The mysterious figure said, holding out a hand towards the broken idol. Cider did go up and went to grab the figure’s hand, not exactly knowing who it was.

It was definitely a friend.
