Becca knows how Vaness is, and she avoids him due to it. But when he goes after the people she cares about, she decides it’s time to face her demons
Chapter 1
“I swear Vaness is such a bitch.” Hearing the third year, Jadyn Herz, say that so confidently couldn’t help but make everyone else at the table chuckle. If Becca didn’t know any better, she would’ve thought this was like a high school clique, considering for once everyone in pomefiore was eating lunch at the same table.
Although she had laughed along, Becca couldn’t help but worry. Why mention the Octavinelle student out of nowhere? Was he right behind her like usual or something? Not noticing the second year anywhere, Becca sighed in relief.
“True, though what did he do this time?” With how quiet everyone at the table suddenly got, Becca grew nervous. What did he do? What was she the cause of this time? Someone tell her. Someone let her know.
“He stole rook’s phone and tried to impersonate him while texting me. That’s all. Don’t worry, it was such a bad impression.” Jadyn’s attempt at a comforting smile did nothing to calm Becca’s nerves as she refused to touch her food now.
Vaness went after them. He went after the people Becca was close to. Why? This was her fault, she knew that. If the second year hadn’t gotten so close to jadyn and rook, Vaness wouldnt have given them a second glance. She needed to go. She needed to atone for this. Maybe then they’d forgive her. Maybe then they’d… be happy.
Not saying a word to anyone else, Becca suddenly left the cafeteria on a mission. The Mostro Lounge may not exactly be open at this hour but she needed answers from a certain Octavinelle student, even if it meant facing the one person in NRC who scared her.
