Fennef grew up with her lusus, an Alaskan Klee Kai, in the small suburb of Dewsbury. She didn't really have many friends growing up. While she was hyperactive and friendly, Fennef had always had trouble with facial expressions. She tended to always look bored or annoyed, which made people and trolls alike think she just wasn't truly interested in things. Fennef did manage to make a few friends throughout school. The ones who stuck with her quickly found out just how hyperactive she could be, and how easy it was to anger her, especially if her resting bitch face was brought up. While she never was good with facial expressions, Fennef learned how to communicate her feelings through body language, words, and gift giving.

She was introduced to coffee at a young age, and she found out that she loved the stuff! Fennef and her friends would often go out to a cafe to drink coffee and chat about whatever. One day, Fen and her friends talked about how things use to be before the age of peace. She learned how trolls with a higher blood caste than her don't always agree with the way things are now, and how a lot of people and trolls are still weary, even after it's been awhile since the age of peace had begun. She also learned how Alfasa, the current Fuchsia in charge, wants to ease the weariness, and decided she wanted to try and help too. Fennef and some of her friends agreed to help Alfasa.

Over the years, Fennef and her group were able to make some higher blood friends. They might not be able to change everyone's opinion, but Fennef thought even just a handful of changed mindsets were better than none. Fennef went through Halivaara one day, and noticed that a cafe there made some of the best coffee in town! She just knew she had to try it! Fennef quickly found out that the owner there wasn't fond of lower bloods, even if they were just one caste below her. Fennef found Makina interesting, and made it her goal to get Makina to change her views.

Dewsbury thankfully wasn't that far from Halivaara, so Fen made the effort to try and go to Makina's cafe every day that she could. Fen started off with small talk, and she thought that was going well until someone brought up how things are now. The high bloods there clearly had the same views as Makina. Fen ended up getting in trouble multiple times for speaking her mind. After getting kicked out multiple times, and even being in a few fights, Fennef found out just how hard it would be to change the indigo blood's mind. While she did take breaks when she got discouraged, Fennef kept going back to Makina.

Fennef finally made progress when she talked Maki into hanging out with her and her friends! She won't admit she annoyed Makina into it, a win was a win for her! Fen and her friends took Makina to all kinds of different places, and showed off how hard working lower bloods can be. She introduced Maki to a well known farmer, and even a purple blood who loved music that was dating the farmer. She didn't think Maki was that interested until a few days later, when Maki mentioned she wouldn't mind hanging out again. Fen and the group showed Makina their favorite places for as long as Maki would let them, and after some time, Maki was hanging out with them regularly!

While Makina never said it directly, Fennef knew that she helped change the Indigo's mindset over the years that they tried. She hadn't realized that she was starting to feel flushed for the higher blood until one of her friends mentioned how clingy she is to Makina. Sometime after Maki became a regular in the group, Fennef had visited her everyday to talk for hours. After some time of mulling it over, Fennef knew the worst thing that could happen was just a no, so she asked Makina out on a date, and to her surprise Maki said yes! A few dates later, the two became inseparable! Makina moved in with Fennef, and Fen works with Maki at the cafe.
