IMPORTANT WORLDBUILDING:

- Ghosts can roam the earth as a spectator or ascend depending on mental state of death, and if they choose to.

- Ghosts can roam through the spiritual world and material world freely, but cannot interact with live people or the material world at all. They can influence a few things, such as making the air around them colder, but nothing that will affect the world greatly.

- In the material world, they can touch things, but it will not be affected by them. For example, they can sit on a swing, but the swing will not move.

- The spirit world is a colder reflection of the material world, with the difference being that spirits can interact with the spirit world. Here, civilizations out of ghosts who do not want to disappear pop up around the world. Spirits of animals end up here as well.

- Ghosts cannot be killed, but satisfied ghosts can ascend. No one knows what happens when a ghost ascends, but it presumed they are at peace or stopped existing.

-Demonic entities exist

Abilities & Restriction

cfe160c161e1204ac0bd80d75592454b.jpgAvery's powers are based on the spirit realm or on "supernatural" entirely. While some need to be triggered, others are done at all times naturally, fluctuating through emotion or other natural reactions. The TLDR / unexplained list is as follows:
  Interacting with ghosts
   Materializing ghosts
Moving between the material world and spirit realm
Extending his powers to others for a short time
  Dreaming other people's memories
Talking to ghosts or seeing the spirit realm through dreams

Detailed explanation of powers
While Avery has a multitude of different abilities, a lot of them are involuntary, have bad side effects, have a cooldown session, or incredibly hard to learn.

Interacting with ghosts is involuntary and a constant. There are several instances in childhood that Avery talked to ghosts, which his family members wrote off as imaginary friends or odd instances. This has no side effects.
Materializing ghosts can fluctuate with emotion and has to be learned how to control. Constant or overuse of this ability can lead to many side effects. These side effects look like sickness or like cases of the flu. (Headaches, fatigue, weakness, and fever in order of severity)
Moving between the material and spirit realm is a very hard skill that needs to be learned in order to execute. It is very rare that he does it on accident, but on the occasion that does happen, it will most likely be from panic. Some minor side effects are dizziness from moving unexpectedly or moving between a lot in a short duration of time.
Extending his powers to others is another ability that is incredibly hard to learn. It can also be forced out. He is more vulnerable when he is unconscious. Those who gain his power do not immediately learn how to use it, making it appear as a weaker version of his power. This ability can lead to serious side effects, as those who borrow the power are using Avery's stamina to do things with it. (Headaches, dizziness, hallucinations, and fainting in order of severity)
Dreaming is a completely involuntary ability. Controlling his dreams to see other's memories or talk to entities through it is not learnable. Instead, memories and interactions are decided by the spirit who has invaded his dreams / subconscious. He has no part in deciding what he sees. His dreams is essentially a vessel for others to communicate with him.

I am still not sure about the origins of the power, but I think I will make it some time of inherited power.
