Chapter One

A young kit mewed softly and it flicked her tail. Leopard'tuft looked down at her new kits. "The spotted one shall be Ember'kit," the queen continued to mew. "Oh and that one Mountain'kit," Leopard'tuft mewed gesturing her paw towards a shaded brown she-kit. "The white tabby one shall be Tiger'kit," she said tapping her tail. "And..................that one," she mewed trailing off.  "I don't know," she stated,  "But, it will come." "Our kits are beautiful," mewed a giant tabby warrior named Chestnut'heart.  Not long after Blood'fang stared into the medicine den looking for Crooked'creek.  Every so often Tiger'kit would catch his gaze. Blood'fang was a former Shadow Clan cat who left when he was a kit.  Moments later Leopard'tuft stood and picked up Tiger'kit, Ember'kit, and the nameless kit. Then Chestnut'heart picked up the remaining kit and padded off to the nursery.

In the next moon, three kits could be seen playing in the center of the camp.  "You shall die Shadow'Clan warrior," mewed a small brown kit. "Not if I kill you first, "mewed a small tabby she.  The third kit just sat looked up and then cried, "Save me Alpha'star, from this foul Shadow'Clan warrior." The smaller brown kit went to leap at the tabby one but was interrupted by a darker brown kit with white patches. "Crooked'creek need wet moss!" the spotted kit yelled before darting off with moss in her mouth. "You messed our game up Ember'kit," the small brown kit cried. "Sorry Alpha'kit, but Crooked'creek needs this wet moss," Ember'kit cried. "You're always with Crooked'creek and never play," the tabby mewed. "Well, Tiger'kit I don't like the idea of being a warrior like you three," Ember'kit replied. "Mountian'kit?" a voice could be heard calling. "Yes, Leopard'tuft," the kit replied.  "Come help me," her mother called. In a moment, the brown kit ran off after her mother.

That night was the gathering. Cactus'star had taken most of the clan leaving the clan poorly defended. Leopard'tuft was curled soundly in her nest. Slowly a Shadow'Clan cat named Rabbit'sprint crept into the camp near the nursery. The large tom peered into the nursery letting his gaze fall on four kits. Rabbit'sprint quickly grabbed all four of the kits and ran out of the camp.  "Huh," Tiger'kit mewed. "Who are you?" Alpha'kit stated moments after. Rabbit'sprint placed all the kits in a small clearing in the middle of Thunder'Clan territory. "Now listen up mouse brains," the tom began to say. "You're coming to Shadow'Clan with me," Rabbit'sprint finished. "Never," yelled Alpha'kit. "Yes, never is correct" Tiger'kit cried. "We are Thunder'Clan cats and will always be," Ember'kit squeaked. Mountain'kit looked up and muttered something before being silenced by Rabbit'sprint. "If you don't I'll be killing all but that one," Rabbit'sprint said gesturing towards Tiger'kit. "NO!" a cry could be heard from Ember'kit and Mountian'kit. Alpha'kit had just launched herself at Rabbit'sprints face. Rabbit'sprint clawed her face leaving a wound that ran down her face onto her neck, a blind eye, a nicked ear, and a decent-sized mark across her other eye. Moments later Thunder'Clan cats could be scented coming back from the gathering. Rabbit'sprint quickly fled and after scenting Thunder'Clan acts.

"I see kits!" a young warrior quickly stated before running over to them. "Tiger'kit!?," the young warrior said. Tiger'kit looked up at the warrior with tears in her eyes. "These are Thunder'Clan kits, my kits," cried Chestbut'heart. Ember'kit was chewing a piece of dock before she was spotted by Crooked'creek. Mountain'kit looked horrified at the sight and laying still and motionless Alpha'kit laid. "Is Alpha'kit dead?" Tiger'kit asked Blood'fang. "I don't know," the tom replied. Crooked'creek and Ember'kit were inspecting Alpha'kit in the distance. "Tiger'kit, how did you get out here?" a she-cat mewed gently. "Some Shadow'Clan warrior kidnapped and left us here when you showed up," the kit replied. "I'll be having a word with Hickory'star soon," the Thunder'Clan leader said.

Blood'fang slowly paced back to the camp with Tiger'kit by his side. Tiger'kit looked up at him with a warm smile but still with some tears in her eyes. "I love you Blood'fang," she said slowly. He blushed slightly before a murmur could be heard in the crowd. Soon after the group of cats approached the camp to find a frantic queen.

"Leopard'tuft it's ok," mewed Cactus'star before passing Alpha'kit the Crooked'creek. Tigerkit's gaze fell on her mother and then back over at her sister's lifeless body. Leopard'tuft was swiftly licking Mountain'kit while Tiger'kit snuggled close to Blood'fang. Leopard'tuft remained frantic the rest of the night and Blood'fang slept in the nursery against Tiger'kit.

Alpha'kit woke up in a few days a little unsure of what happened.  Ember'kit treated her gently before padding off. Tiger'kit who was sitting by the entrance to the Medicine Den padded in to greet Alpha'kit.

A few moons later, everything went back to normal and the four kits were about to be apprenticed.
