“Welcome everybody to the 37th annual Rivera Banquet! Please, take a seat! The main festivities shall begin momentarily…” The sudden loud voice drew Morello’s attention to the stage. He sighed and slumped back in his chair before averting his gaze to focus on the people around him. He swept over the many heads of famous celebrities hoping to spot a familiar red color. Suddenly, a figure blocks his line of sight and leans down.

“Is this seat taken?” the man smiles, his blue hair falling to cover one side of his face. Morello looked slightly annoyed and began to respond ‘yes’, but before he could the stranger took the seat anyway. He fixed his silk scarf, crossed his legs, and then put a hand to his chin as he faced the now annoyed bodyguard. “Well I haven’t seen you around before… what's a nice handsome man such as yourself doing alone?”

Morello just stared at him for a moment. “I’m waiting for someone.”

“Well forget them. The name’s Pierce. Perhaps you’ve heard of me? Famous boxer? Y’know, Hatchet Pierce?” he rambled on waiting for a reaction to one of the many names he listed for himself.

Shaking his head, Morello looked away, “never heard of you.” He continued looking through the crowd. By now, most people were taking their seats.

“A shame… perhaps you’d be interested in getting to know me better then?” Pierce smiled and reached out a hand.

“No thank-” Morello began to decline before a familiar figure appeared by his side. Paiche looked at Pierce and smiled. The bodyguard looked up at Paiche, looked down, and then back up. He looked good in that suit.

“Wow, it's the hatchet himself!” the red haired man sneered. “Haven't seen you since that scandal with Caddel’s daughter! How’ve you been?”

“Back off Paiche I spotted him first.” Pierce stood up and crossed his arms. He wore an obvious expression of annoyance on his face, “go find some other poor intern to hit on, if you can even find any who like you.”

Paiche blinked and then erupted into laughter, “you spotted him first? Oh man, that's hilarious.” The other man looked at him confused. Pierce opened his mouth to speak again but was interrupted. “I'd rather die than be at this boring party any longer.. Plus I have an interview in like, 30 minutes.”

“W-wait a minute!” Pierce stumbled, “what do you mean by that?”

“Wow I knew you were stupid but not that stupid. So when I say that I would ‘rather die’ than be here.. I mean that I-”

“Not that you asshole! You know what I was referring to!”

“Ugh, you’re making me late Allyn.” Paiche rolled his eyes then grabbed Morello’s arm. Morello, who was fixated on Paiche the whole time, was surprised by the sudden movement. Paiche yanked him to his feet and then smiled at the aggravated Pierce, “can’t be leaving without my bodyguard now can I?” With that, Paiche tugged Morello along and they both left the blue haired man behind.

Appalled, Pierce stared after them before snapping back to reality, “wait a minute you idiot you’re the one hosting this damn event!”
