“Momo-chan~” Shinta purred as he sauntered into the practice room and handed her a stack of papers. “I have the next song for Undead and Akatsuki.” He smiled proudly, puffing out his chest.

Morie took them, smiling at the blue haired boy. “Thanks, Shinta-kun. I’ll look over them after today’s practice. But for now, Undead is going to be showing up soon to go over your last song you wrote for them.”

He nodded, pulling up a chair and flopping into it. “I’m going to stay and watch.” He purred. “If that’s alright with you, producer-Chan.”

She raised an eyebrow at him. “I don’t mind… but haven’t you already seen them practice this one? Usually you only stay for the first time they practice one of your songs.”

He waved a hand dismissively and twirled a strand of hair around his finger. “I like to see the updated version sometimes too.” He shrugged, looking up as Adonis, Koga and Rei filed into the room. “Where’s loverboy?” He hummed.

Morie blushed at the nickname he’d given Kaoru as of late. Shinta loved teasing people, especially her. And she’d given him prime ammo when she started dating Kaoru.

She looked down at her phone, frowning at the text from him. “He’s running late apparently.” She deadpanned. He’d been doing so much better lately about coming to practice on time.

Shinta frowned, quickly recognizing the disappointment and irritation in Morie’s eyes. “Well it’s no worries!” He said cheerfully trying to get her attention back on him. “Maybe I can go over the new song with the four of you before actual practice then.” He said, tapping the papers in Morie’s hands. “It’s a little different from your usual sound but I think you’ll like it~”

The present members of Undead walked over and gathered around Morie and the music sheets.

“I really wanted to highlight everyone’s strengths in this piece.” Shinta began, his demeanor immediately becoming more serious. He was carefree and a tease but he always took his work seriously. “So it’s a split center song. Rei, you and Kaoru will be the centers for it, sharing equal singing time. Koga I made sure to include a guitar solo for you. And Adonis, I heard you play ocarina so I wanted to highlight that too! It’s a strange combination of sounds but I think it works really well for you.” He explains. “Oh! And it’s a high fantasy theme.”

Morie hummed, looking over the lyrics. “This is incredible, Shinta-kun. I can’t wait to hear it played out.”

“Do I get to be a vampire?~” Rei purred, flashing his fangs at Shinta briefly.

Shinta shrugged. “You’re the villain of the story and Kaoru is the hero. I suppose it could be read as vampire.” He answered, his blue eyes darting to Rei for a moment before feeling his cheeks heat up and look back at the music sheets. “Koga is the villain’s right hand and Adonis is the hero’s.” He explained. “It’s a story about a dark prince who had finally met his match in a knight in..” he was cut off as the door creaked open and Kaoru walked in, his face red as he rubbed the back of his neck and offered out a bouquet of flowers to Morie. “I’m sorry… I.. I placed the order at the wrong time so they weren’t ready.. I.. these are for you.”

Rei snickered, snatching the music from Morie and looking over his lines while she was distracted with Kaoru.

Morie’s face turned bright red as she accepted the flowers. “You’re too much.” She shook her head, quickly leaning up and pecking his lips. “Now get to work. We’ve been waiting for you.”

Kaoru grinned, his face lighting up immediately. “Yes, Momo-Chan.” He agreed, tossing his jacket to the nearest chair and taking his place on the floor as the others filed in with him.

Rei handed Shinta the music back and their hands brushed for just a moment, sending sparks through Shinta and making him blush. “It’s brilliant. You really understand us.” The vampire praised him before falling back with the rest of the group for practice.

Morie raised an eyebrow at Shinta’s flustered expression. Was Rei the reason he always insisted on sitting in on practices even though she knew he had his hands full between his school work, songwriting and his own idol work? She gave him a knowing smile before turning back to Undead. “Alright, Kaoru, you can go over the new song with me and Shinta-kun after practice. But for now we practice the last song he wrote for us.”

Shinta smiled softly, trying to shake off the feeling of Rei’s cold hand against his. He sat down, watching as the group got to work. They were truly talented and always made his songs come to life in ways Shinta had never imagined possible. Undead was amazing. And he’d started to fall hard for it’s resident vampire.
