Twelve looked out the window, twisting his head around to catch the last few beams of sunlight as the sky finally overtook the sun. As he watched, a feeling of longing crashed over him. He wanted to follow, to see where the sun went when it enviably disappeared out of sight, but then he remembered the lighthouse and what might happen if he dared to leave it. What cruel people or creatures might come around when he wasn't looking and destroy what was left of his precious home. No. He couldn't let that happen. He won't! So he watched with sadness as the sun left without him once more, and as the light left him to another dark night.
