I will not pretend to be innocent, but I will question why this is the specific punishment given to me. By divine truth I know my sins, and yet perhaps these sins are so grave that they warrant something worse than death itself.

I can still hear their shrill cries, their eyes of many colors begging for mercy, the stench of blood and the godforsaken red fog. My senses are all tainted. The blood on my hands still feels warm. I still feel the frantic pounding of my heart as I try to piece a body back together by its spilled guts. It never leaves. It never leaves.

There is no use holding back in a fight. For at night, all blood is black.
