Azure sometimes talks to a shadow of Espresso's former self in his dreams using his psychic powers, sleepwalking whenever he does. He doesn't control when it happens; it's always random. Espresso never remembers it, but Azure does... This is just sort of a little drabble I made of what it's like when that happens!

... Tonight, the sun shined warmly on the hillside overlooking a vast field of white flowers. Tomorrow, who knows? But it's always better to try and focus on the present rather than the future, and it was especially good to never dwell on the past.

"..So. You never told me why you like to sing."

A man in a sweater and coat next to him stood smiling a bit slyly, looking out onto the blue flowers. ..He sat down, hugging his knees.

"Because... Song is the way to people's hearts." "Oh?~" "Mhm."

..He didn't elaborate. He just chewed on his necklace a bit, looking at the yellow flowers. The man next to him seemed to know this wouldn't go anywhere, and managed to keep a calm smile during a sigh.

"Certainly there's more to it." "No, not that I know." "..Then, that is worrying."

He looked back up at the man in the sweater.

"Wh-Why..?" "Well... Ah, do I really feel like telling you?" "..You don't have to." "Heh. That's a ridiculous notion. I tell you everything, in the end. You're my favorite employee, after all."

He smiled at that... The other continued to speak:

"Hmm. Truth is, I haven't a clue what is wrong with me, then. Whenever you put on a performance just for me, I feel something I don't want to feel. I don't want to feel it because it makes me feel good, you see? A little too good.~"

Ahh..? ..He stayed silent at that, looking back to the red flowers below and trying not to blush. This made the man laugh, a bit.

"So, Azure, where are you off to now..?" "..I don't know. To Jmorcu, I think. I-I'm scared." "Don't be. One day, in the end, we'll both find the peace we want." "You don't believe that. You don't sound like you do." "..You're right. But, I do want you to believe it. Is that so bad?~"

He chuckled a bit concernedly at the notion... One day, huh? ..One day.

. . . He awoke in a barren field, destroyed to the point where grass couldn't grow. His head was pounding... Slowly, he got up to his feet, and dusted himself off. ... There was something behind him. A familiar presence. As he turned to greet the figure, it spoke to him:

"Azure." "..G-Good morning, Espresso."
