You Make My Dreams

━Just calm down! ━the guy in front of me screamed at me━, you ain’t taking her out for the first time, you two have been out like this one hundred times, and counting. So chill, it’s gonna be just fine, and you know it! What’s this fucking fuss all about? ━I glanced over the mirror━. It’s all about a simple dinner ━I tucked in my shirt━. That’s right! ━my reflection answered a last time.

I stopped that nonsense of speaking to myself through the mirror and checked the time, last thing I wanted was to be late to top my nerves. What nerves, though? If anything she’s the one that gotta be nervous.  A sly smile complimented the thought.

I brushed off the initial ramble I had with myself, pretending it never happened, stepped out of the bathroom, and felt pretty comfortable knowing that I was gonna be on time, as per usual. 

I made my way out of the apartment, keys into the car and outta to take my sweet baby girl for a fantastic night, I was part of it anyway, so it’s already set up to be fantastic. 

The ride is fairly calm, nothing very exciting happens while it, but I made sure to have some sweet tunes to fill the air. When I was nerby, I texted her to be ready, couldn’t get be late for a reservation.

I’ll be there soon, you better not

be lying and make me wait 

outside like the last time ;)

Her answer made me smirk. I touched the screen to answer, I was still on red light anyway.

No way I could do that to you,

princess.

I accelerated to be there  before she went down, but I was only two blocks away, so it had been barely one minute, if anything. I lowered the window as I stopped in front of her building; she was looking gorgeous.

━What’re you waitin’ for, baby? Come in! 

She opened the door and was quickly inside, I didn’t wait much to start moving the car once again. I gave her some side looks.

━You look sweet, baby doll.

━Oh, do I? ━she batted her eyelashes, I loved every single minute of it.

━Ah princess, you really love getting the praise, huh?

━If you know me well... ━she winked.

Side glances the whole way to the restaurant, I couldn’t keep my stare out of her. Small talk with generic filler of how our days went, I knew it couldn’t vary much from what she often told me, but listening wasn’t a chore of any kind. 

By the time the topic wasn’t “this is what I did at work today” anymore, it was filled with describing words of appetite. 

━I gotta say, the Lasagna does look good.

━I told you baby, I could only bring you to one of the best places for eating Italian food.

━Don’t flatter yourself so much ━she giggled, in a slightly sassy way.

I smirked to the comment, while raising a cup of wine to make a small toast before eating.

After the dinner, I made sure to not drink too much, but I couldn’t control whether or not my doll did, or not so much, so she ended a bit tipsy that what I did. Treasure was certainly far more upbeat ever since, giggling in the middle of our conversation. 

━I’d like if you came in with me… ━she whispered to me with puppy eyes, we were only 5 blocks away from her building.

━I’m impressed about how much sweet you become after a few cups of wine ━I teased with a sly smile.

━At least I don’t make a fool of myself whenever I let it happen! ━she crossed her arms on her chest and I couldn’t help but laugh at her childist reaction.

━How can I say no to such a cute princess, anyway?

━You pull them all together ━I stood up from the couch and grabbed her by the hand, making her stand up.

━This is so out of character of you ━she giggled following along.

━You make my dreams come true... ━I held her close and sang low on her ear, drunkenly trying to make coherent sounds and dance movements.

The pretty giggles she made could only cause me to look at her face, her cute eyes. Holding  her cheeks, I sang along.

━Girl oh yeah ━and clumsily kissed her after, both laughing at our inability of making coherent actions. I kicked a empty wine bottle by accident on our dance.

Our hands were tight, our movements a slower than the music tune, the air was filled with th sweet scent of her perfume, and I was inundated with it. She stepped over me a few times, but we were both without shoes long ago, so it didn’t hurt. My doll couldn’t stop giving me cheek kisses, and I couldn’t stop singing to that damned old song.

━I got you a lil somethin’ ━I interrupted our dance, the music was still going.

She didn’t answer, but seemed interested.  I walked away, I was looking for my jacket, when I spotted it, I almost fell. I managed to regain balance, not without cursing in the process and get the stupid thing. I was searching through the pockets of it, how many does this fucking thin have, anyway? Until my fingers bumped with a small box. I got it out, hid it behind me and got to her.

━Apologies baby girl, but I legit forgot about giving you these when we were dining ━I offered the box to her.

━Did I really make you that nervous? ━my only answers was a laugh, she began opening the box.

A set of golden earrings, moon shaped with stars hanging was inside. She made a big smile and immediately started taking off the ones she had on to put those on.

━I love them! ━she hugged me right after looking at her through a small pocket mirror I got no clue were she got from.

━That’s the best payoff I ever would’ve received ━I hugged her back to kiss her clumsily once again, letting ourselves get consumed from what was left of this endless cheesy song.
