"Alright, copy me Dan!" Oddity said. "I'll make sure to exaggerate my facial movements and pronounce what I say slowly so it'll be easier for you to mimic me!"

The dark brown Eevee nodded enthusiastically. When Dan had asked Oddity for help with learning to speak, Oddity had practically jumped at the chance to help him.

The dark brown Eevee had decided to do the lesson in a small but nice nook of the lab, aside from the small table and chairs that Oddity and Dan were sitting in, there was a soft plush rug, a few books sitting on the table, and the device that Dan had hooked up to himself was also sitting on the table alongside the books.

"Let's start with a simple introduction. 'I am Dan' now you try it!" Oddity said, making sure to slow down, and clearly pronounce the phrase that he was trying to teach Dan.

Dan took a breath, obviously trying to psych himself up before he attempted to speak.

"I- I, I." Dan attempted, trailing off into a frustrated grumble. Still, he took another breath and tried again. "I aym danm." The machine he had hooked himself up to beeped slightly, and a green light flashed on it for a second.

"Hey, that was pretty good for a first try!" Oddity encouraged. "Don't give up, let's try again."

   "I aym- I am..."

   "You can do it!"

"I am, I am da- I am Dan!" Glee shot across Dan's face, the dark brown Eevee wagged his tail happily. "I am Dan!" He repeated. The device beeped and flashed again.

"You did it! Great job!" Oddity exclaimed, a smile crossing his face. He took a second before deciding on what phrase they should try next. "How about for the next phrase, we do a extremely practical one 'where is the bathroom'." Oddity made sure to slowly, and clearly pronounce the phrase.

The response of rapid nodding and various excited noises from Dan, was followed by him taking another breath. Psyching himself up again, but with a bit more confidence.

"Wh-whear ias teh baithrom." Dan said, a look of determination crossed his face. "Wher- where is te- the bia- bathr- bathroom!"

"Alright! That's really good, but can you put it all together?"

"W-where is the bathroom!" A look of excitement, with a hint of pride was clearly visible on Dan's face, which was accompanied by another beep and flash from the device.

"Oh heck yeah! Now you're talking, well starting to talk!" Oddity said as he pumped his fist. "Now what phrases should we do next..."
