Meal Prep

After a quick change of clothes in his own bedroom, leaving Love to entertain himself with the large raven who was more than happy to sing him the song of his people, Thief returned. His school uniform was now replaced with a more lax lower cut shirt that hung off his shoulders and a pair of pants that were simple and rather baggy. There was a simple belt there to make the outfit have more shape, but there wasn’t much in the way of dramatic flair or exotic tastes. He very much knew he looked like a commoner, and he was fine with this as he pulled on some socks and tied up his long hair to be more away from his face. He often interacted with them even before he came here, knowing how to blend more in with them in his free time and stand out when he wanted to. Now was a point to blend in, more so as the clothes were so much more comfortable to lounge around the house in.

“Alright, Love. Let’s see how good with your hands you really are.” Hearing a ‘oh woah?’ from Romeo, he could only smile as he finger wiggled for the red head to follow him.

What was to follow was to say amusing at the very least, leaning on Love as he cut and cooing some suggestions as the male tried. It was becoming more and more clear this one hadn’t done any house work of any type in his life, but he did get points for trying at least.

The stew that was supposed to take only an hour or so to prep and make was nearing 30 minutes just to prep, and there were still a few more things left to do. Not that Thief was complaining, body pressed gently against Love’s back and his face resting gently on his shoulder. They were more of a similar height now that he was out of heels.

“Okay, do you think you can finish up those onions as I start working on the meat prep and starting the cooking process?” He asked, letting his hands that were showing the red headed male the way previously to now just wrap around his waist. Any answer he would have gotten was acceptable, but he was also making plans to start prepping as well if that answer was no.

Love wasn't sure if he'd call it better or worse that Thief was more on his level height wise after changing. The baggier looking clothes weren't something he was used to either, but he wouldn't say they looked bad. In fact, the thief was also a lot slimmer than he thought without their layers. The real problem was how well they fit against his back. Focus was a thing of the past even while they did their best to show him how to peel and cut properly. It was too bad things were going in one ear and out the other.

Turning, he jumped slightly when he gently bopped his cheek against Thief's. Out of sorts, he simply gave an "Mhmm." and nodded as they hugged him. No amount of heat resistance could protect him from himself, unfortunately, as his face burned. Waiting until the other wandered off to start on the actual process. Thank goodness. Love had heard people on the outside were a distracting sort, but he hadn't imagined trying to interact with at least someone he didn't think was a noble would be so flustering.

Taking a moment to calm down, a short breath or two and he was back to chopping up the onions. With a much more rapid growth of precision now that a certain someone wasn't wrapped around him. Soon enough, he was already bringing them over to get his next task. "All finished, what's next~?"

Watching Love for a moment, with him stepping away the red headed male seemed to get a better grasp on what he was doing and started to chop away. Preheating the oven, he did wait a moment more but now on task he supposed he could leave him to his own device without worrying too much about him. The fingers were tucked away, the knife was firmly held, and the board wasn’t sliding around while the blade was going. What more could he ask for? Well.... he could ask for many things but baby steps. As Love came over while he was frying some of the bacon and patting down the meat, he thanked him and leaned over to give his forehead a small smooch.

“Thank you, my love. Just set them down there.” Watching for a moment as Love just stood there instead though, he set the brisket down and leaned down to examine him as he was still and almost vacant in a way. Nothing seemed to be behind those eyes as he stared into the distance. “Love? Are you alright?”

It wasn’t long before he was back though, blinking and earning a smirk from Thief as he found it so cute how he just zoned out for a moment. Sadly he could not indulge more, not about to touch Love after man handling the meat. That didn’t mean he wasn’t plotting, what’s more as they had 3 hours to pretty much wait for the food to cook away. It would be ready for dinner, but it would be bedtime soon after that.

Blinking as he tilted his head slightly, Love nodded before he set the chopped ingredients down to scurry off back into the hall. He swore, Thief had asked if he was alright or something, but it hadn't registered in the short blank space of time in his head. They made it seem so smooth and natural to do that he didn't know how to react in return.

In the end, the young demon fled to find where Romeo had gone off too and do a little exploring on his own. The house wasn't as big as his own, but it was enough to keep him busy until Thief would be done with dinner preparations. A glance down a couple halls was all it took before he soon found the pretty raven perched on some sort of stand preening. "Romeo! Oh Romeo, here thou art, Romeo!" Approaching cautiously simply because the animal was still unfamiliar to him, even if Thief said they were friendly. "Your owner is a little funny isn't he? I figured out he was friendly, but goodness, listen to this!" Used to sharing his day with the maids to try and get closer to them, Love figured Romeo the perfect critter for listening without understanding.

"He's a little embarrassing but that's what makes it fun I think~"

Though a nod was given as he asked if he was alright, the other was soon off without much else. It worried Thief a little bit, wondering what was going through that mind of his, but his place wasn’t a large one so he’d be easy to find wherever he went. Maybe it was for the best, as he had quite a bit more prep to do. There was frying the meat, sauteing the carrots and onions with garlic, getting the aromatics ready, and then even after there he still needed to fry mushrooms and make some rice when time came closer. So, for now, he let Love explore to his heart's content.

In his little ‘playroom’ of a sort, Romeo was found on a perch with all his toys and shinies scattered around. He did stop preening himself as he heard Love, staring at him with his big eyes and making his strange laugh noises as his ruffled feathers smoothed back down.

“Pretty boy, hello.” His head tilted back and forth as Love talked to him, but it didn’t take much to realize Love just wanted to talk to something not get responses. Romeo could do that, flying over to land on his shoulder and start preening the other’s hair now, letting him spill his woes about the owner who was in the same house and for now oblivious to what he’d find out later.
