Cordi yawned. Wasn’t there anything to do around here?

It seemed as if everyone in the cove was excited for this holiday season… What was even the point? Sure, they had seen some Yumenari down in the villages exchanging gifts with each other.

This only left one reason everyone was so excited, they were getting presents! No wonder, it’s like the absolute best when you get something for free!

With new found energy, Cordi bolted upright causing the seemingly endless candy wrappers to fly around the room.

They grabbed their coat and headed outside.

The air within the cove was chilly, but Cordi seemed not to notice as they departed.

This certainly needed some more research. As such, they headed to Corvus’ place!

“Corvus! I’m here to ask you a… oh!”

They paused as they saw the normally sleeping yume, awake and cooking something within his small kitchen.

“You’re awake! That’s lucky for me.”

“Right. Did you… need something?”

Cordi nodded.

“Yeah, actually I wanted to know why so many people are exchanging gifts recently.”

The winged yumenari stared at them, a confused expression on his face.

“That was it? Well, I guess it’s because they want to make their friends happy. I mean, everyone likes a well thought out gift.”

“It’s not to get something in return?”

He shook his head.

“Nope. Like sure, it typically gets you a gift back but you shouldn’t just give people stuff to get something yourself.” After a sigh, he muttered to himself, “Listen to me, I sound like a freaking children’s book…”

Cordi had to give this some thought.

Their friends? It’s true they did have a few Delusions that they could count among their friends…

“Hey, Corvus, could you.. help me get some gifts?”

Once again, the Nightmare had a confused look on his face.

“Uh sure? I mean… Do I even know these people?”

They nodded. “Yeah! It’s Selene and Valdemar!”

… Corvus, in fact, did not know who the heck those two were.

Regardless of that small fact, the two Yumenari headed to the human world to get gifts for the two friends that came to Cordi’s mind.

After getting the rundown on these two Delusions, they found themselves at what humans called a shopping mall.

Cordi stared up at the massive building.

“So humans spend all their time here just exchanging paper for stuff?”

Corvus shrugged. “Yeah. Humans are weird. Let’s head inside, it’s freezing out here.”

He headed inside with Cordi following him closely.

“Hey! You don’t really go to the human world all that much, huh?”

The Nightmare yumenari shrugged. “Yeah. I don’t really umm… I had a bad experience. So going out just to… isn’t really my idea of a good time…”

Cordi saw him fiddling with his mask. He looked uncomfortable with this line of conversation…

“Hey! Look at this super cute cotton candy! It’s in a little shape!”

He laughed appreciating the change of topic. “Come on let’s get those gifts… and I guess one Cotton Candy.”

Cordi arrived back at their home, arms full of pretty bags with presents inside, they even got some of them wrapped in the store!

Now it’s time to deliver all these gifts out!

They probably bought way too much, so they’ll spread the joy around!

Starting with Screech of all Yumenari, they weren’t at their home though… so they just left the nicely wrapped package there and ran off to give the rest of their gifts.

They called out to Howl, who bolted upright. “Oh gosh, Cordelia! You scared me half to death just… huh? What’s this?”

With tear pricked eyes, Howl had a cutely wrapped box in their hands. “It’s for you Howl! I found it in the human world and thought you might like it.”

Before Howl could even thank them, Cordi said their goodbyes. “Well, I have a few more gifts to give out, enjoy your chocolate!”

They certainly weren’t saving the best for last but regardless, the way things worked out they happened to find Selene and Valdemar after they had delivered everything else.

For Selene they had found a pretty wicked looking scythe; it wasn’t practical at all and certainly wouldn’t replace their favorite, but hey, everyone likes a cool weapon, right? Then for Valdemar, he was a tough one. So Cordi had gotten him a thing called a rubix cube and a box of a thousand piece puzzle, it was a cool design featuring skulls and flames, it totally reminded Cordi of Valdemar.

Once Selene had opened her gift, she was just purely focused on that; Valdemar had other plans of course…

“Oh dear, Cordelia, did you go out of your way to buy us gifts? How completely unlike you.”

Cordi glared at him. “Are you… mocking me, Vald?”

They only got a smile in return, which really only made Cordi more angry.

“I could just take it back if you don’t like it, you know!”

Valdemar laughed.

“No, I like the gifts plenty. It’s just so unlike you to show such good will to others, I’ve seen you running all over the village this evening.”

Cordi’s tails bristled as Valdemar spoke.

“Geez! I’m not that unsociable! That’s the last time I give you something…” Cordi huffed off leaving the two Delusions laughing at their bright red face; although, it was anyone’s guess if it was from anger or embarrassment though…
