Bad Movies and Snuggles

June awoke rather suddenly, a horrible nightmare of things that could’ve been having taken over the originally happy dream. Her heart was pounding and had it not been for the two large arms wrapped lightly around her midsection, she’d likely have bolted upright.

Taking in a deep breath, she turned around as slowly as she could, however, she hadn’t expected the beautiful eyes of her girlfriend to be staring right back at her.

“Did I wake you?” June questioned a hint of sadness to her voice. She hated when she waked up her girlfriend.

“Yes, but don’t worry~” Fairyfloss purred as she nuzzled June’s neck. She had woken up when June began to twitch in her sleep. While Fairyfloss wasn’t that much of a light sleeper she still found herself waking up to June’s nightmares rather easily.

“Is it another one of those days?” Fairyfloss questioned, a warmth to her voice.

If others had asked a question like that, June might have yelled at them for being rude and it being none of their business (she had even done that with her closest friends), but with Fairyfloss she didn’t feel the need to put that wall up around herself.

“Yeah… I might just stay home today.” June replied with a sigh. Whenever she got into these states, she always felt so weak and tired, she hated how she felt in these moments because she felt like she was succumbing to weakness despite how she normally felt much better the next day.

“Then a cheat day is in need!” Fairyfloss exclaimed rather quietly as she let out a giggle of joy. While she knew her, girlfriend didn’t feel so hot on these days, she always tried her best to make her feel better… despite some attempts not always ending in the best of ways.

June just let out a hum as she flipped herself onto her back as Fairyfloss got off the bed.

“Movies?” June asked her voice rather quiet as she looked up at her girlfriend with a small smile.

“Movies.” Fairyfloss said with mock seriousness that quickly broke down into a fit of giggles as she scooped her girlfriend up into her arms (normally June might protest, but because of how tired she was she didn’t say anything) and began to walk to the Livingroom.

“Any new kinds of movies or do we want the same old really bad ones” Fairyfloss questioned curiously as she set June down and allowed her to waddle over to the couch to sit down as Fairyfloss looked over their selection of movies.

“Same old same old,” June replied as she wrapped the fuzzy blanket that laid on the couch around herself as she loved the warmth it gave off.

“Alright, attack of the killer tomatoes it is!” Fairyfloss declared as she shoved the disk into the hole and ran to the kitchen to go get some popcorn for the two of them.

When she returned, she curled up against June as the movie flicked on. The bowl of popcorn in front of the two of them.

June cuddled into her side, and as the horrible movie began to play, she felt a warmth in her chest, so long as her girlfriend would be here then these bad days would never really seem that bad.

And for that, she was happy.
