Christmas shopping. Just the two words near each other gave Mamoru the shivers, he hated having to find the perfect gift for everyone he knew, and it dug away at him to think about a disappointed face if he didn't find the perfect gift for one koi. He could easily get down who he lived with, they all had simple tastes and were never confusing in what they decided to ask for when ordering physical objects or even food, but then came the other households and he had no idea what to get, not even Asteodia could point him in the right direction.

"Hello sir," Mamoru jumped as the store clerk greeted him, "what are you looking for tonight?"

"Oh, um.."

He didn't say anything else, he only handed over the list he had prepared after assaulting the kois he knew with questions.

"You can find the top three items in isle three, the lower items are on the other side near our Christmas selection and the fifth item should be right.. here." The clerk handed him the item and he gave them a smile before taking the paper back and writing down what they had said, his ears flattening against his head with a small grumble as he walked away.

He was a little embarrassed at the fact he already seemed lost and then he got pointed in the direction he had already gone to? He couldn't help but adjust his mask to hide himself further from the shoppers around him.

As he walked down the Christmas island, he stopped by the toys that repeated what was said into them, a babykoi was standing nearby and they looked up at Mamoru. He could feel the little stare but couldn't help but get uncomfortable at the feeling, which didn't help his growing embarrassment as he shuffled away to grab the items on the lower end of the list.

"Almost done.." He mumbled to himself as he began the walk across the store and grabbing the last few items. The checkout was fast, and he was out on the street even faster. He stopped by a few more shops to grab jewelry, a custom made dagger and a new tea set.

He balanced each gift in his hand as he made his way home, he took in the visuals of the nearly leafless trees and the soft crunch of leaves beneath his feet, but his body felt heavier the closer he got home. Once the door was closed, he set everything down in his room and began to wrap and pack them up in the boxes he had prepared during November, and carefully stuffed the more delicate items before closing their boxes up.

Mamoru eventually accepted a little help from his roommates so he could curl up in his bed and take in his off day of climbing the mountains but he could barely relax the longer he thought about it, did he need to climb to "relax"? He thinks so, but maybe tomorrow, he's almost done.
