christmas decoration

Myre will come up from the surface every holiday he can to spend with the others, though winter he's always been wary of due to the cold. He already deals with shivering when he emerges from the water he lives in, but coming up and being unable to warm himself up from even a little sun rubbed him the wrong way.

He decided to meet with Komaki, he had only met him at a few picnics when Mamoru was invited but otherwise didn't know him well, "Hello, you're who I'm meeting, right? Myre?"

Myre looked up at the koi, a little intimidated at his piercing white eyes, "y-yes- Ahem, yes, that'd be me.."

Komaki helped him stand before walking once he did, "Mamoru said to take you to both houses so you could pick who you wanted to stay with."

"Has he always been that considerate?"

Komaki softly laughed, "Yes and no, he cares a lot about people's comfort, especially after I came from my home."

"Was it hard for you to get comfortable?"

"More or less."

The two kois continued their walk to the different houses that had already begun decorating the front yard now that they were freshly cleaned of autumn leaves, Aoshi waved from the ladder he was on to attach some lights, "Oh, have you ever decorated a house for Christmas before?"

"Let's not push him," Mamoru chimed in, "It's good to see you Myre, I'm glad you could home."

"Thanks Moru, but I don't mind helping decorating, it seems fun."

"Head inside, Asteodia wanted Komaki to help with the tree, but with you here he can focus on the presents."

Myre nodded before following Komaki inside, Asteodia gave them the box of decoration then disappeared into the house, "Well, he didn't give us any direction so let's just decorate for fun."

"Do you think they have a theme?"

"No, probably not, there's some holly and berries but they just decorate to decorate."

Myre nodded before picking up a small bundle of red berries and putting them into the tree, Komaki would follow with a holly nearby until they had fully made it around the tree and the top and bottom were decently filled. Looking through the boxes, Myre found a small table runner, a glass bowl, "Oh? Maybe for the dining room, come on."

Myre picked up the two items and followed Komaki into the dining room before decorating the table.

"This is pretty fun."

"I'm glad you like it," Komaki went to the boxes, "Mamoru will probably be back inside to look it over so Dia can focus on other things."

"Do you do much for Christmas?"

"Mostly this, sometimes I spent time with Mamoru and his roommates, but where I live right now is where we all gather."

"When?"

"Christmas eve, then we all enjoy a little bit of food and relax on Christmas days, oh, and smaller gifts for friends."

Myre slowly nodded, "I have a question.."

"Hm?"

"Could you show me around town?"
