The Sounds Of The Alarms

Curled in the overly soft and plush blankets, Lilinaya laid and listened to the faint noises of the alarms farther down the halls. They weren’t all that common, usually meaning someone had broken in and was on the run from the guards, but surprisingly weren’t all that uncommon either. For one reason or another someone always wanted to break in, usually caught and never seen again by the public eye unless of a more noble or higher up family and was forced to be released due to immunity or to remain on ‘friendly’ terms with others. It was all too strange to her, but not her problem as she snuggled deeper into the warm blankets in just her baggy shirt and bright pink collar that always brought comfort to her.

She did look to the door, wondering if her master would be back any time soon, but knew he wouldn’t until the wee hours of the night. He was always busy around the end of the year, leaving her laying in bed and just waiting. Part of her wanted to ask for more attention in the holiday season but also knew he would just become upset and tell her to stop being so clingy. Sighing, she closed her eyes for now to wait it out.

Ezekiel was fucked.

In more than one way it seemed. First he had caused some trouble with the local gang, having had ruined their chances of abducting some warpa children who were left unattended by their parents (demon trafficking in New Polsos is not as common as in Sukkha, but it was common enough for him to easily detect an incoming trafficking situation when he seen one). Now, he's gotten in more trouble for clambering into the nearest privately-owned area that he could find, though at least this way he could get the gang members off his tail.

Ezekiel had been running around, evading the guards skillfully as he's done such a thing many times before. He was hiding at a corner, waiting for a chance to find a better hiding place, when he noticed an open window. He didn't think for a second more after that and proceeded to jump up into the opening, stopping momentarily by the window sill so he could survey his surroundings first before getting himself into more trouble.

Swaying her tail gently as Lilinaya tried to calm herself into her relaxed state deemed 'acceptable' by the family she served under, she was just starting to doze again when a louder noise had her suddenly sit up. She was no fighter under any circumstances, rather docile in nature, but she knew the safe areas of the house and where guards usually were.

She had left the window open like many times before, the cooler air relaxing and calming in its own way despite being oh so chilling. It rustled her soft fur and hair in just the right ways, as if the wind itself stroked her. It never was a forethought that someone would get in as she was at least a good 20 feet up if not more. She could only guess from the view she'd get when looking out into the garden area.

"Excuse me, what are you doing in the master's room?" She asked while looking over the other, still hidden in the blankets as the oversized shirt and collar were her only cover otherwise.

Her eyes settled on the red switch near the bed, there to signal the guards if anything was to happen. A panic switch of a sort and not something she used often unless in danger.

Eventually the stranger finished surveying the area and came across her as she looked back at them. The tip of her large white fluffy tail flicked while also resting across her bare legs to add more warmth. She had a feeling that wasn't one of the masters' friends.

When Ezekiel heard the voice from within the room he had just jumped into, he knew that he'd fucked up. He looked around the room a bit further first, checking to see if there was anyone else other than the voice he'd heard, before finally settling his eyes onto them.

At that moment, his breath hitched.

Luscious snow white hair, paired with an equally luscious tail and bright green eyes.

Gosh, were they a beauty.

He got so distracted by the beauty hidden among the blankets that he almost lost his balance and swayed off of the window sill that he's perched on. Thankfully, he managed to sway himself into the direction towards the inside of the room and thus only ended up falling onto the floor. He cursed slightly upon impact, feeling embarrassed that he's just made a fool of himself in front of someone so lovely.

Rather still as Lili watched the other, she couldn’t help but laugh softly as the male found his way in. Though, this way in had him on the floor as he seemed to regain composure enough to curse at himself or maybe the floor itself. Alas, this only cemented the fact it was not a visitor meant to be there. That meant good little pets would surely call for the guards to come escort this person away, but she was also full of curiosity about who this could be and how he found his way in.

Worse case, she could feign ignorance with her master or anyone that came in while searching. She looked far too sweet and innocent to _ever_ lie, right? It was best they kept thinking that as she kept her fingers close to but not about to press the button that could end the fun so quickly.

“Hello there,” she instead tried, as he didn’t respond to her first question. So maybe she needed to introduce herself first and she could get the desired information from the other instead. “Are you alright? You seem quite tired..”

Awkwardly yet with speed, Ezekiel gathers himself into a sitting position, settling himself cross-legged upon the floor.

"Um, hello," he at first sheepishly replied. He looked around again swiftly before finally answering her question, "Uh, yeah, I suppose I’m not alright right now… Got into a bit of trouble."

He grinned right after the admission, showing that despite the ‘trouble’ that he had caused, he was proud of it.

"Trouble? Of what sort?" She was used to trouble, though the trouble she knew well of wasn't the sort you ever wanted to be in. The family she served under had their fingers in many areas that more civilized folks kept from. She noted he seemed proud of it as well, making her further curious in what antics he had been up to.

Seeing that he isn’t in immediate danger due to breaking in, Ezekiel uncrossed his legs and began stretching them. He has to keep them in tiptop shape after all.

"Oh nothing much," he replies as he does his stretching. "Just messed up the plans of some trafficking ring. Saw them about to kidnap some kids so I just started drop kicking them while the kids ran to safety."

Sitting up a bit, Lili wrapped the plush blanket around her shirt as it started riding up and showing the lack of clothing that was underneath. She didn’t mind, many people seeing her without her clothes, but she wasn’t sure how innocent the other was. She wasn’t just a cheap whore for everyone, only her master and his friends.

“Strange, that doesn’t sound like my master’s family. They only breed the families under their control and sell those offspring. Was it cat children and on the grounds?” Despite seeming so innocent, she knew a lot more than what her demeanor let on. Granted, if it was this meant the other messed up some business plans. It wasn’t quite her problem but if anyone found out she knew it would be.

Ezekiel froze in his movements upon hearing her words.

Oh Satan… He’s walked into the territory of these kinds of people, huh…

He quietly swallowed his nervousness before replying honestly, "No… they looked to be something else, but definitely not cats… Plus it was several blocks away from this area—"

He paused before continuing, "—I’ve been running awhile you see, and I’ve messed with them before, so…I’m sure they had nothing to do with your master’s family."

He studied Lili more carefully as she sat up, noticing her collar, and from there he further understood what he’s gotten himself into. Due to his upbringing, Ezekiel has been taught to rather dislike the type of people who used other warpas as if they’re items. Granted, this is hell, and morality barely means anything. Regardless, he still has the choice to have his own integrity.

He started to become more serious from that moment on, making sure to be careful with his actions.

Discreetly, deep inside, he started feeling disturbed by the fact that this lovely demon before him is apparently a slave. Deep inside, he believes that she deserves way more than what she has now…

“Ah, some of the outside antics. I don’t know much about those, I’m an inside cat.” Which was probably for the better, but she had a feeling her masters would be happy to have competition taken care of without any effort on their part. She did wonder now though, knowing her brother wandered to and from the outside and bonding more with her sibling was a good thing. He was kind in his own way but took the brunt of a lot of the abuse being a more feisty kitty in his younger years.

“You must be why the alarms are going off then, they don’t usually tend to start up unless someone unauthorized finds their way in. A shame really, you are rather cute.” The alarms were now starting to die down, being turned off one by one as they searched the areas. Everyone was informed of the situation and having more quiet times to think was better than the loud and obnoxious noise that might hide important details.

Though, that did mean eventually someone was going to come check on her. She was after all a fragile lady who needed to be protected and well cared for. She looked around the room for various places to hide the other, not really wanting them to get caught just yet.

"Yeah, sorry about that...," Ezekiel replied sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck as he discreetly realized that he had indeed caused some chaos. No thanks to his realization though, he absolutely missed the fact that the lovely lady before him had just called him *cute*. At this moment, his brain could only think of how he *really* hoped that he wouldn't be captured by the guards. His family might be in the favor of the esteemed Aozora Lune, thanks to their connection to his daughter, Umi'iro, but power can only do so much, and he doesn't want to trouble the man any further than he already has (and he's caused a lot of trouble already no thanks to his constant trouble-making). He soon paused in his neck-rubbing when he noticed Lili looking around. He casted towards her a questioning look, then asked, "Are you...looking for something?"

"I have doubts you are as sorry as you say, but as long as you feel it was a necessary evil then the thought is at least a nice gesture." Maybe a bit too blunt to be the pretty kitty she was, her master seemed to like it at the very least.. he did have strange tastes though...

Listening for a moment on the bed, as her longer elf ears moved like a cat scouting an unexplored area, there were indeed footsteps getting closer to where they were. She only really had two options, plead ignorance and let him be captured or hide him and also still try to seem innocent if caught. She had the looks to be considered just a sweet maiden but who came determined how effective it would be.

"The alarms are being shut off, so the guards are making their rounds to check on things. I'm my masters' favored pet so they'll more than likely come to check on me as well as I was in the area." In it's own way sweet, but for someone looking out maybe not as sweet as Lili thought it to be.

Moving the rather plush blankets, she pat the bed for him to come lay down where the blankets once were. Once, or more so if he did, she'd figure things out from there.

Ezekiel found himself breaking into a grin when she called him out. Indeed, he isn't *that* sorry...

When she mentioned the guards coming soon though, he perked up, eyes wide as he started entering a panic sort of mode. He was looking around to hide as well when he noticed her patting the bed when the plush blankets once lay. Is she suggesting for him to hide there...? Would those blankets even hide him well...?

Oh well, it's worth the try.

"Well, thanks," he replied, seemingly dazed no thanks to being in survival mode, before climbing onto the bed next to her, lying down as instructed.

Distantly, he wondered if his dear father would scold him for lying in bed with a woman without asking her out for dinner first.

Once the male laid, the blankets were tossed over him. They were thick and warm, heated from the cozy room and also her body heat as she had been laying on them. She seemed to be rather meticulous on how he was covered, leaving his face unexposed but putting a pillow there instead for him to hide behind. Hidden unless someone joined her in bed, and she had at least doubts that anyone that came to check on her would be doing *those* sorts of activities. He could still see though, Lilinaya wondering if that would be good or not and decided in the end it didn't matter.

Ezekiel wasn't ready to feel overwhelmed by the absolute warmth that surrounded him once Lilinaya laid the blanket on top of him. The gentle scent of flowers and fruits embraced him so lovingly (though he's sure that he's just imagining that), that he felt like he could fall asleep at that moment. He held back from doing so though, as he had to keep himself aware of the guards. He also did his best to not inhale the scents around him. After all, that would be rude. So instead, he did his best to lay still, be a good boy for once.

He should be a good boy for the sake of this lady, too.
