Finnick had walked amongst the living for years, using his status as a spirit to travel and explore. While most Esk care alot about their boundaries, weither negatively or positively, Finnick has never felt strongly one way or the other. He saw it as his birthplace, but didn't feel any reasoning for wanting to stay there.

Instead, Finnick loved to travel. It was the reason he had even became an esk in the first place. Before being transformed, Finnick had been but a small fish who spent his days trying to figure out how to escape his small oasis pond. At the end of it, he had felt so hopeless, like he would never accomplish his dream.

But then he was transformed, and everything changed.

He didn't have to worry about food or staying in water anymore. He didn't need to worry about predators or even breathing. Now, he could travel as much as he wanted. So he set out to do such.

From deep oceans, and sky high mountains, Finnick loved seeing the sights, almost as much as he loved meeting others along the way. Truly, he had the most fun when he was meeting more of his kind. From the smallest fungi, to the biggest grasslands, he's enjoy their company all the same. Even if some where rather harsh to him, he still thinks fondly of them. Afterall, they are all his family!

With how much love Finnick shows to others, it isn't much of a stretch to think Finnick doesn't favor any biomes, over another, but that's where your wrong. Though he does enjoy all Esk equally, his favorite biome to explore has always been the desert.

Now, Finnick's heard many Esk complain that there is nothing in the desert, but Finnick would love to disagree.

Many complain that the desert is too hot in the day, or too cold at night, or that the sand feels rough and gets everywhere. While, Finnick can't really argue against their opinions since he believes all ideas are true until they can be proven otherwise, he still doesn't understand their gripes.

To him, the desert is perfect, with warm days and cool nights, areas to sunbath for miles, and even the occasional watering holes where one can swim, the desert feels like the best place to hang out.

To Finnick, there was only one downside to the desert, and it was that it was lonely. Sure, there were Esk that lived in the desert, but most Esk seemed more open to visiting biomes that we're the desert.

Once, Finnick tried to get Thistle to come visit the desert with him, but Thistle quickly reminded Finnick that he can't go because he can't leave his boundary. As per usual, Finnick was confused by Thistle's response. Finnick couldn't understand why Thistle didn't just follow Finnick anyway.

Does he think Finnick can't take care of him? Does he hate the desert too? But then again, Thistle was not an esk like Finnick is.

Finnick offered to change Thistle into an esk, but he refused, saying it wouldn't help.

Once again, Finnick was perplexed by what Thistle ment by 'It wouldn't help". Finnick loved being an esk since it ment he could travel instead of being stuck in the river like he used to be. Wouldn't Thistle want the same freedom?

Either way, Finnick didn't push any further, and instead changed the topic. If Thistle doesn't want to explore, that's ok with him.
