(I found this in my drafts it was for the ship wreck event back in August, it's not fully completed. I thought I should probably add it to their profile but feel free to decline if you don't want it.)

Tide moved quickly over the ship's deck frantically trying to hand out swords to those still unarmed. He was doing his best to keep his eyes off the Hydra currently sticking out of the water and to stay calm. Knowing that if he starts panicking now it's only put everyone else in danger.

A vicious strike from its tail slammed just in front of the arborling knocking him off balance. Before he could right himself properly the appendage came swiping towards him on its way back to the sea.

"Help!-" the distance to the ocean was so short he had barely gotten the word out of his mouth before it engulfed him. The water was a lot colder than he'd expected, feeling not unlike razors against his skin. Whimpering a bit he oriented himself to face the surface and desperately tried to swim toward it even as the violent waves washed over him, pushing him deeper. His lungs screamed in his ears and tail thrashed wildly by the time he managed to finally surface. Gasping Tide was only able to take in a couple of breaths before a large wave knocked him back under the water.

He was left spinning in the water unsure if he was knocked closer or further from the ship. Just as he was getting his bearings back the Hydra's tail struck him in the side. Immediately the air was forced from his lungs and without thought he attempted to breathe it back in only for water to take its place. Truly starting to panic it set in for the first time that he really might drown. Tide desperately went for the surface against the waves and violent current. His own tail thrashed trying to propel him forward and his legs kicked with enough force to be borderline painful.

Just as the top of the water got in reach a loud screech rang out, hardly muffled by the layers of water in his ears. The Hydra seemed fed up with the ship for now and dove back under to head back where it had come from. Tide surfaced hacking up water and a bit of blood unable to fight as the waves bobbed his light under the surface and back up again. After what felt like hours of coughing finally his lungs cleared up allowing him to properly take in air again.

Taking in the waters around him the arborling saw several others had been knocked overboard. Aside from the various swimmers there was also a good deal of debris from various spots where the ship was now broken. One of the crew threw down a rope ladder allowing everyone within the waves to swim over and climb back aboard.
