It was a fine day in the cove, with the weatherman inviting his good friend to go canoeing with him. Now, Setsunai didn’t seem all that thrilled but agreed to it nonetheless. When he arrived, he saw Corentin inside a canoe in the water, patting the seat behind them. The nightmare blinked a couple of times, before going and getting inside the canoe.

The two yumes began going, rowing the canoe along. As usual, it was Corentin being the chatterbox he was, with Setsunai just listening. It was until Corentin smelled something.

“Oh god… I should have picked a better day haha… because uhm Setsunai you see, usually I am on top of my game, however, turns out I forgot it was going to rain later-” Before they could finish, Setsunai grabbed their shoulders and shook them.

“Are you serious???” Setsunai looked a bit worried about the rain, but that is when Corentin had an epiphany,

“We can just share my umbrella! I bought a bigger one last night and I have it on me, a good opportunity to try it out.” He then proceeded to pull out said umbrella. It looked fairly identical to the one he usually carries, except it had more colors, and had small decorative raindrops hanging off the points.

“Here, let’s swap spots so we can look at each other, okay?” They just had a grin, while Setsunai just blinked at his friend. Nevertheless, the two did swap spots, with Corentin managing to prop the umbrella using his tails, holding it so both of them can stay dry while continuing the row the canoe over the water. The two kept at it until they got to the center of the body of water. Corentin was distracted by the rainfall, as per usual, while Setsunai was wondering when he can visit the moths again. The bright Yume looked towards his friend and smiled fondly. This caught the other’s attention, and just stared right back.

“You know, they say rain is popular in movies because it adds atmosphere,” Corentin said, attempting to start a conversation. Setsunai looked towards the rainfall, it wasn’t a heavy pour, but not a light one either.

“I can see why they say that…” The nightmare finally responded, which resulted in Corentin going on a tangent about rain, and the effects it has on people. The younger yume just listened to them, not really having much else to do. After some hours on the water, and many tangents later, Corentin realized it was probably time to head back so both of them can get home at a reasonable time. The two proceeded to row back to shore, having a couple of conversations exchanged in the meantime. Once they got back to land, the two parted ways, not before Corentin told Setsunai how they appreciated him of course. Now that was something for Setsunai to go home with…
