Vengeance - Healing

«Wow, that was quite a fight.» Kezme couldn't remember the last time he had such an intense battle. It's been a while since his encounter with the huge snake, but despite that he still kept thinking about it. For a moment he had thought he'd be in trouble when he saw that gigantic snake's tongue shoot towards him for the first time. The beast had attacked out of hiding and surprised the hob, but thanks to his experience, it hardly made a scratch on him. Still, he'd been a bit on edge since then, always careful if it might show up from the darkness since it wasn't defeated yet, but just scared off. He wanted to take some time to relax and recharge, far away from the dangerous undergrowth. Kezme walked through the jungle, looking for the tallest tree around, but he couldn't see the treetops from his position. Trying his luck he climbed one that looked very old and steadily kept making his way upwards as high as he could, looking for a great view over the treetops and perhaps even a juicy mango for a snack. It was dark already and the monsters would soon rampage over the land once more. When he found a large, sturdy branch in the treetops, he got comfortable, letting his tail and hindlegs dangle off the side, with one front paw outstretched and one tucked in under his chest. He surveyed the jungle, but the moon was hidden behind clouds and so he couldn't see much of his surroundings. As he lay there, he thought about the last couple moons in his new tribe and how he got there. A lot had happened in the past and it all started back when....

Suddenly a white glow appeared from beneath the trees far away. It became brighter and brighter, then suddenly a shape seemed to rise from the jungle. He couldn't believe his eyes at first and Kezme jumped to his paws when he realized the body of a ghostly stag appear from the ground, as tall as the mountains of the tundras. It looked around, but didn't seem to notice Kez, still he tucked in his tail and made himself smaller, as if it would help him hide from the apparition. Then it spoke. About the river, about justice, about Salikos. Kezme started to panic and the fur on his back stood up as the memories of the stag resurfaced, and his own eyes began to glow as his curse resonated with the spirit. The possession, which had always shown itself as a red glow, turned first blue and then white as the ghost threatened Ibea with his wrath. Kezme felt its power surge through him and was afraid to loose control once more. He dug his claws into the bark and gritted his teeth in pain, desperately holding on to conciousness – then all of a sudden it was  over. Everything turned dark and he fell back on the branch in exhaustion. When he opened his eyes, they had turned to their normal, grey shade once again and when his vision cleared he saw the stag was gone. He felt the tension which had settled on Ibea in the last couple moons slowly fade away, but his body was still on high alert. He knew the spirit was dormant for now, but for how long? «I have to be ready for it when it returns» he said to himself. Somehow Kezme knew that through the curse, his connection to the spirit and the powers of possession had strengthened, but that meant that he was playing with fire. It  wasn't the first time someone had tried to kill him because of his special ability and the powers themselves could become his doom someday. Once more he was torn between running away and staying with his friends and family, knowing fully well he might endanger them simply with his presence. «I can't let it control me. I have to be the one in charge and perhaps I can use this connection against the spirit next time...» As the green hob looked up, he suddenly noticed something hanging from the branch above him. It was a ripe, colorful Mango. With doubt in his mind but hope in his heart, he grabbed the delicious fruit.
