“Silvayne! I found something for you!” Ember’s enthusiastic voice was so sharp that Cass was sure her eardrums would have been ruptured by any longer exposure to it. It wasn’t like it annoyed her, it was just loud.
Dhani had clung on easily, taking to the group as if all of them were her children, even though the opal would have put money down on being at least three times the other woman’s age. Silvayne felt almost the youngest outside of Ember’s antics, immature and headstrong, flirty and bratty. Cass wanted to put her title of General to work and whip him into place.
“Alright sweetheart, what do you have for me?” The misty runner asked, a softer smile on his face. Oh so he was only targeting Cass with his flirts, great.
In response, all Ember did was dart off, and when the group met up with her, she was standing next to a booth to register for a set of events. Cassia groaned, and although she knew the other puller was better than that, she could almost imagine Dhani sighing.
Ember had picked a race. For sure it was an event tailored for the runner, his slim build much better than Ember’s stocky short frame, of the two puller’s larger muscles.
One look at the chaser’s face had them all caving though.
“Although for you sweetie!” Dhani spoke, and Silvayne cracked a cocky grin.
“I can win for you, Lady Cass.” Cold ice colored eyes shot as dangerous a look as possible at the runner, but he was unwavered.
“Call me Ice Queen. I prefer that title.” She said with a huff.
“That’s not very becoming.” Dhani frowned slightly, but Ember cut in.
“That’s because she summons ice and it’s super cool and it might even help her slide around during a race!” The chaser bounded up and down on her paws, and handed them all numbers as she had finished registering the group. They were forced to endure it now.

Dhani had never raced in her life, but today was the day I guess. Her newfound group was extremely welcoming and she was happy to have three friendly faces to share the fair with! She put the sticky number on the side of her shoulder, away from any long fur that might cause it to become unsteady and fly off. She watched Cass and Silvayne do the same. Bending down she helped little Ember. The number was just a bit too big, so Dhani thought it best to paste it along her side. Ember danced around excitedly with her new number. “13!! That’s my lucky number! I bet we are all going to win!!” She did laps around the group, her energy seeming to come from a bottomless pit. She was nearly making the group dizzy with her antics. “Easy, Ember, we aren’t even racing yet! Save your energy if you want to win against those runners.” She said, attempting to hold her back from running.
Dhani chuckled at her endless energy however, how she wished to have such a thing! The group then went to take their places at the start of the race. It seemed rather straightforward- it was a 3 lap circuit race. They all braced themselves against a back bar until the gun was shot, signaling the beginning!
Dhani kicked off, nearly losing her footing due to how far the bar got pushed back with all of the racers pushing off, but she managed to keep to her feet and attempted to keep pace with everyone.
Naturally, Silvayne was in the lead and looked over his shoulder to make sure Cass was watching. To which, she rolled her eyes and focused on her own race and footing, trying her best to keep pace with both Dhani and Ember. Races truly were not built for chasers and pullers, but you couldn’t argue that they weren’t fun! The first lap was pretty stagnant with no one really pulling forward or back, it seemed like most everyone involved was gauging to try and see who might be the most challenging for the third lap. Dhani panted as her feet hit the hard packed soil, meanwhile Ember seemed to keep up with her without any trouble- but also unable to go any faster due to her short legs. She chuckled inwardly, happy to be racing along such a sweet little new friend as they all rounded for the second lap.
Some of the pullers had fallen behind, namely Dhani. She wasn’t built to run and her long and silky coat seemed to catch all the wind and weigh her down even more. But Ember was slightly ahead now, and she cheered her on the best she could, “Keep going Ember! You can do it!”

Ember was just there for the fun of it, running around with her heart, even if she wasn’t in the lead. She mostly could keep up with Dhani, which the larger puller found impressive with the chaser’s shorter legs.
Silvayne, confident he was in the lead, and confident he had caught enough of Cass’s attention, poured on the speed for the final lap. He was going to show off for the pretty gal of his dreams (not that he hadn’t flirted with other sparkling reos before, but she was here now), and he was going to be proud of it.
Cass seemed to have something else in mind as she grinned devilishly.
Avoiding Ember and Dhani, the puller summoned more ice, trapping their competition as their paws were stuck fast to the ground. She then summoned ice ahead of her, and she skated on it. The callouses on her paws were used to this, and she skirted ahead inch by inch. It wasn’t enough so she summoned a pillar of ice behind her to help push her ahead.
“Is that, cheating?” She vaguely heard Dhani ask in the back, and Ember’s cheerful voice rang out. “Nope! Anything goes!”
Silvayne looked back for just a moment to see the crazy grin on the puller’s face as she flashed ahead of him, barreling towards the line faster than he.
Ember was more than a little excited over the change, Silvayne was stunned, and Dhani couldn’t help but chuckle with her new companions. They were a crowd to be sure, but Dhani was glad she had found them.
