Thorrin - Endless Possibility

From the very first time he laid eyes on Obrille, he knew. From the hard-cut rocks, rugged hillsides, and sharp grass, he knew this is what he wanted to be. 

Oftentimes, Thorrin would sit and watch as the knights of the academy trained. Everything about them excited him to no end. He imagined himself with their shiny armor, their heavy swords, shields and spears. If he was lucky, he’d even spot a bow and arrow user, although more rare. 

During his free time, he’d sneak into the barracks to watch the senior knights and their apprentices go over mission briefs, assignments and patrols. Thorrin would try to follow them around as far as the city limits, but could never get far due to his parents diligence. 

Usually, his trips into the knights academy went unnoticed. He wasn’t particularly good at sneaking around, but the fort was busy enough to leave him unseen. One day however, he was discovered sneaking into the barracks to watch the new students train. The knight, who seemed to be of some authority there, invited him over to watch him train the young knights. Thorrin watched with awe as the knight displayed his swordplay skills with such great fitness, grace yet power. He decided then and there that he wanted that same kind of power. 

Before the day ended and it was time to go home, his temporary chauffeur bestowed upon him a  wooden training sword from the training yard. He told Thorrin that whatever he set his mind to, he could achieve. Thorrin never let that sword out of his sight, as he dreamed of shining armor, and grand adventures.
