Sol stood in the hanger hands dripping with the blood of stormtroopers. For all of her life she had been told that stormtroopers were something to be feared and were made out to be big bad boogie men. And yet she stood over their bodies as a clear victor of the fight. The Hanger had gone silent, the blast fire had stopped, the only noise was the footsteps of the other kids as they made sure everyone was dead. Sol saw movement out of the corner of her eye, she walked over to the body. Kneeling down Sol removed the helmet of the trooper, they were still alive but barely.

“Please…” The body begged Sol. She stood up and looked down at the poor human.

“You fought well,” Sol said, her voice barely audible. Lifting her leg she slammed her heel into their face. There was an audible crunch as the steel heel of her boot made contact with the person's face. “May the two suns guide you to peace.” bending back down Sol drew a small, small mark of a person's face. She smiled as she stayed crouched over the body. She had just given this complete stranger the burial rights of her faction.

“See Berndol for the ashes of this old empire we shall build something new!” A voice echoed throughout the hanger. Sol was attention caught by this voice,  it was Rax the leader of the group. Rax was talking to accomplish Berndol, apparently they were going to rebuild the empire whatever that meant. Sol watched the two men talk some, there was something about how they interacted that she always found strange. But it was never her place to question her superiors.

—----------------------------------

Berndol watched as this group of kids massacred a squad of stormtroopers. Most of these kids didn't even have blasters. Rax had created something truly terrifying and something Berndol had only hoped to have created during his time working in the empire. These children had loyalty and combat skills that he had only ever seen with the clones. He watched as one of the youngest of the group smashed her heel in the face of one of the dying troopers. It was a disgusting site to behold. That girl in particular had always interested him. He had worked with the kid a couple times during training, but she never spoke to him and seemed to keep herself in the background as much as possible.

The other kids called her Sol. She was blind in one eye and yet, he just watched her take down two stormtroopers with very little trouble. But the way she fought seemed uncanny like something was guiding her.  It was almost like watching a padawan in training practice with their Jedi.

“See Berndol for the ashes of this old empire we shall build something new!” A strong hit to his back shook him from his thoughts.  Rax stood next to him with a big grin on his face. “We truly have something special on our hands.” Rax looked at this child soldier's walking through the bodies checking for survivors.

“Yeah.”  Berndol was speechless, part of him couldn't fully wrap his mind around the stuff in front of him.  He had seen war and battle. But that was usually with grown men but kids.

Berndol could tell that Rax was still talking to him but he wasn’t processing any of it. He made eye contact with the young girl Sol. She was unmoving and emotionless, she was just watching, not at all carrying that she had committed horrible acts against another living creature.

“I see you're interested in one of my soldiers, Berndol.” This snapped his focus back to Rax who was also now looking at the young kid.

“Yeah, she has a type of fight I haven't seen in someone in a long time.” Rax laughs at Brendol's statement.

“Really her?” Rax said as he pointed at the kid. “She blind in one eye, I'm just shocked she hasn't dropped dead yet.  I would have killed her myself but I realized that I need another warm body on the battlefield to keep attention off my more skilled fighters.” There was a small point made by Rax, during training he had seen her quickly lose sparring matches due to her blind eye.

“If you think of her like that. Let me have her.” Brendol's curiosity of this young kid only grew more and more. “I need something to use as an example for the disappointment of a son.”

“Well you can have her. I don't want this runt in my ranks.” Rax whistled.  Everyone's head looked over towards him. “Hey one eye, get your ass over here.” Sol did a quick double take, then quickly made her way over to the two men.

Sol pulled herself up and ran over to the men. She stood at attention a little terrified that she had been signed out of the group.

“Yes, sir.” Her voice was quiet. She could feel herself benignly hyper aware of everything. She felt like she was back in the heat of battle, doing her best to survive.

Rax grabbed the back of her shirt and kinda tossed her over to Brendol. “She's yours, but I will expect you to keep up with the training of the group.” Rax said, before he walked off to round up the rest of the kids. Both Sol and Brendol stood there speechless, unsure what to make of what just happened.

Brendol regained his composure and got down to Sol's eye level. Sol head titled some to give her a better view of Brendol. He placed his hand on her shoulder. He had now finally gotten a good look at this kid. She had a bunch of small scars and scrapes all over body. But there were two deep scars across her neck that looked like they had come from old weaponry from her empire. Sol was almost a true testament of his belief system of  ‘survival of the fittest.’

“So You are going to be working alongside me now. I see great potential in you.. What's your name?”

“Sol.” She spoke.

“Hum.. how about we call you Kiran.” Brenold “I think it may fit you a lot better.”

“Kiran… I like that.” she said.
