"Lolli...pop?"

Ever since finding her new friend, Lumi had been dragging her around the fair by the hand. Happy as can be that she'd found one like her kin back home.  She'd thought that this world had been so different from her home since she'd begun learning about the basic rules of it.

However this one! This Birdy had shown so many of the ways of her own kin, from gifting to start a friendship, to emoting more than speaking, to even speaking her language!! It brought her so much joy that all attempts to imitate Grandpa's calm maturity was gone to the beeping joy of her kin.

She would call them Clops until she found out if they had earned a name or was given one to use. It was how things were back home, so it couldn't be too far off from how things were for them anyways. After all their hooves (?) made such a delightful cloppy sound.

It was to them Lumi turned to ask. "What's a lollypop? It's pretty and shiny...are they for decoration?"

The booth owner with her abyssal wings gave Lumi a look of absolute disbelief, clearly thinking she was messing with them both.

"You're shi-iiddding....kidding with us. Right? You've never seen a Lollipop before?"

She haddn't, and shook her head to confirm so.

Her diet back home had been mostly the plant life that grew in the forest and prairie, with a little fish from the ponds around their world where her kin would bring her. Sometimes someone would get a spell from one of the spirits to summon a 'cake' and they'd give her a little, and she'd also eaten her fair share of different waxes from the littles.

However never had she seen something like these little things for anything other then decoration.

"Oh? They're candy!" Clops said chipperly, a big grin on their face as they take one of the shiny little rocks and bite down on it with a rather concerning sound.

It wasn't unlike the day some of the littles saw her eating grass and decided to try and eat rocks. (Some were okay, they learnt from a spirit that those were good for rubbing on the other things she ate with a little water to make them taste better! Others....not so much.)

Still, she trusted this new friend, and carefully taking one of the pretty little rock candies off the stand, popped it into her mouth and bit down.

"Oh wow you both really just went for it..." The booth owner said in utter bafflement.

The odd little rock did hurt to bite down into like the normal rocks back home...but unlike any rock back home this one was sweet once it began to sit in her mouth. It was pleasant, and she thinks it may have been better just to...suck on it. Still what did she know?

"What flavor did you get?" Clops asked. "I got bubblegum!!"

Lumi didn't know what bubblegum was, but they seemed really pleased with it, so it must be a good thing! As for her own flavor...

"I got something sweet? I don't recognize it but I like it." She pulled the stick out of her mouth surprised most of the lollipop remained on the stick, now even shinier. "What do you think?"

She offered the very same candy on a stick that had been in her mouth without a second thought, as things like that was not questioned home. They shared light with one another at all the time. Shoved each others faces together and their candles together so both could be fed. Surely this was no different?

The booth owner quickly reached under her booth, pulling out a lollipop the same colour as the one she'd taken, saying "Here this one's the same as the one you had. So she can have her own-"

But it was too late. As Clops lunged at the little rock with a clicking clacking crunch sound of biting biting biting biting at it before slowing to a gentle lick. Thoughtful. Before nodding sagely and pulling back from the now mangled stick.

"Strawberry."

"Oh? I have never heard of those either? If they are tasty and sweet like this I think I will enjoy them!"

"Oh there's some food stalls! I be they have some we could get?"

"Yes! I'd love to try more things!!" She'd already taken her friend's hand so that they could lead her to said booths, when the owner of the lollipop booth caught her attention.

The poor booth owner was just looking at them in mild horror, her utter disinterest in the entire event now just utterly vanished for concern for the duo before her.

"Uh... if you could tell me what colour is on the end of the stick before you go?"

"Oh okay! I got....."
